  1. I have a few rides on Strava there lately. With recent additions, you'd want to have the most recent stuff. My rides are private, so if you look for me there, search for Greg Stevens - Texas Cycle Werks and you'll see what's going on down there. Some great stuff...
  2. Yea, we watch your report, too (thanks for doing that, btw!). I've talked with you by your house before. I was hopeful the sun and wind moved things along this afternoon. Some parts were ok, but it's moslty a wreck...
  3. Being the optimistic sort, I got out late today, about 5, to see if anything had cleared at all with the sun and the wind of this afternoon. Ran into a couple guys on the way up from BCRT to the start of 1/4 Notch, stopped for a second, talked...they said it was sloppy, slidey and messy. Rideable in spots, but overall, it's crappy. They were right! I turned around on 1/4 Notch shortly after I started. Called it a day. Was that anyone here? i actually really like slidey rocks...really keeps your bike handling skills in tune. It's just the mud. Too. Much. Mud. Gonna need a bit more time...
  4. Nice Trailer Park Boys reference... haha!
  5. Yikes, that's a lot of water. Fingers crossed for no more of it...
  6. My and the gf rode BCRT late Sunday afternoon and everything we hit had parts that weren't rideable. Giving up, we thought we'd try 1/4 Notch and while there were a few places to walk, most of it was ok, if not a little slick. We walked where it was needed, left no ruts and no mud in the tires at all. Pleasantly surprised...but more rain tomorrow, so we're back to square one. 😞 There was one guy who insisted on riding thru the mud in that little offshoot by Champion Park. I told him it was impassable and my gf did the same. He said to her, "what, you don't like riding in the mud??" then rode thru a huge pool of standing water and mud by the park. Argh...
  7. I'll second what throet said. After the super quick rain Brushy had today, it did create a few slick spots but nothing bad No more rain and it will be hero dirt galore tomorrow...Peddlers, STT, Joshua Drop, Gnargasm, Ankle Biter. All great. Except for a few very minor moist patches, it's great today.
  8. I would also like to know some routes on gravel. The Strava link in the OP doesn't work, btw...
  9. I usually lead this ride leaving from TCW at 6pm on Thursdays. We head out to the BCBG sometimes, other times we go Southie, Stephenson, Longview, etc. Just depends on who shows and where we decide to go. It's generally a solid pace, but suited to the group. It's a no-drop ride and welcome all skill levels. TCW is located at the intersection of Monterey Oaks and 290 on the west side of the highway, next to the Donut Taco Palace. Don't forget to bring lights now that it's getting dark earlier and earlier. Come on out, it's a blast!
  10. This is the map of the route that I did on Tuesday for trail work. Where I've encircled in that photo, there is a need for a chainsaw to move these trees. They aren't blocking the trail, but they are damn close. Going further thru there heading south, there is some chainsaw work needed, too. I've attached two photos to see what I'm talking about... We're going to try a ride on the normal Texas Cycle Werks ride tonight at 6. Weather looks good, just hope the trails are ready. I was out yesterday for 15 minutes and it was a sloppy mess. Hope the sun has made a positive impact today.
  11. My gf and I made the journey to Bentonville in June. It was awesome. It took 8 hours each way and we stayed a few miles from downtown. The Back 40 is, IMO, the crown jewel of that trail system. So great. I did much/most of Slaughter Pen and all of that was just a blast. We tried Coler, but the gf wasn't having it, so we bailed for SP. Also did Blowing Springs and a lot of the fun stuff near there, Sally, Wonderland, etc. As much as I rode, I still didn't get to a lot of it. So, that means I/we have to go back...over and over until I have ridden it all. Then keep going because it's really something special. I would hate to be there for just two days. It really needs three, IMO. Two if that's all you can do, but take three or more if you can. It was great to be on trails that aren't solid chunder and chunk. A local we met described one trail we had just ridden (I think it was Black Apple Creek) as 'rocky.' After I did a double-take, we laughed...he has no idea what rocky means to a central Texas MTBer. It's all so fast, flowy and fun...just be prepared to climb...then enjoy all that sweet, sweet payoff. Can't wait to go back there. Planning something in the Fall (maybe) and the Spring (for sure).
  12. It's a Reveille kind of weekend, it's looking like. Nothing wrong with that, either!
  13. STOP WITH YOUR SHITTY DEPRESSING POSTS, MAN! Always a buzzkill...now it's a lost watch, WTF! lol And yes, I'm stir crazy...I'm going nuts. :(
  14. This is why I changed from 2 laps to 3 laps, I want that damn jersey!
  15. I was only able to get about 5 miles in. Did 1/4 Notch, Double Down and some other sections...all were perfect. A couple soft spots in the low points, but that was it. Nothing was slick and no mud on the tires. Should be 100% perfect today...
  16. Any updates from today? Was hoping that there was be some rideable stuff out there...what's the story?
