Ours is an Outback 240urs toy hauler with a side load garage up front. We also had to ditch our Grand Cherokee and go for a Durango to pull it.

    Awesome camper.

I sold my Little Guy teardrop July 2021 after 4.5 years of heavy use. Loved that thing, but we simply outgrew it.

After nearly 18 months without a camper, we decided we can't take it any more and we just started shopping.

Found it. Yea. Wow thanks though

    Glad you found it.

Good running into you today out there even if it was brief. Nice new steed you got! Mine should be here in a couple of weeks so we'll hook up for some all road rides.

@bestbike85 Are you still using the Savu?

    • Is it easy to take out and put back in bottles while riding?
    • Do the bottles stay put over rough terrain, even without the little bungy cord securing them?
    • If you are still using it, how has it held up over 3 years?

I have a proclivity towards Ospery products and have been thinking about getting a second hip pack without a hydration bladder built in.

I still have it, but not using it much. My riding has been exclusively on the Fargo through 2022, which I have ton of water capacity on and don't require this. However, I still feel qualified to answer your questions because I used this 04/2019-12/2021.

Yes, they are easy to take in and out while riding. This is subjective, because taking them in and out on 1/4 notch is different than taking them in and out crossing through Walsh Trail to get to SN. I wouldn't do it on 1/4 notch.

I would say yes, they stay in place well over rough terrain. I had no issues, and would leave the bungy cords with slack in them.

I used it very consistent for 2.5+ years or so, like weekly, big trips to Moab and Sedona, multiple sections of the Colorado Trail, and everything I rode in Texas during that time. It's held up great, but it does tend to smell terrible as you can expect, so wash it monthly or so. Washing it also cleans the zippers, as your sweat and salt can make those harder to zip.

Overall I still think it's better than a backpack and would buy it again tomorrow if I needed to.

  4. My name is Bestbike85, and I have only ridden my bicycle 10 hours this year.

Sad reality. New job, baby on the way, figuring out where/how to buy a bigger house. Messy messy reality that put bikes on the back burner.

I would enjoy a kick ass demo day though, so anyone who finds one keep us posted.

Based on the available data and our own personal experiences, we believe that the vaccine / booster is still the best way forward.

I wish everyone was as level headed as you with this statement.

Many people look at the available data and their own experiences and feel differently, and that is OK, too.

Hey guys what would be the consensus on start time if we were to try and formalize this ride series? Keep in mind that time change is coming soon, and would enable a little earlier start for those who need it.

I slept in this morning but do plan to go out around 9:30 or 10 if anybody is interested today.

Personally for me being a very early riser, I like to spin based off of sunrise time to 15min prior to sunrise. So if sunrise is 0700, I'd like to go at 0645-0700.

I'm flexible though. Also I have a strange work schedule being I log on at 0430-0500, then off at 0600ish, then usually back for 0830. Of course this is only on days I'm not off.

With my pain in the ass complexity, I'd recommend planning without my input, and I'll do my best to join when I can.

I'm good for this Fri if things dry out, but the prospect of that happening is not looking good. We had rain here during the night and there's a possibility of more rain this morning.

Definitely looks like tomorrow is out.

I typically can't make this due to 5am work, but I have tons of PTO to burn, so I have 5 of the next 6 fridays off, so I'll join eventually.

    How goes the advent x?

After a couple more rides on it I feel I can speak to it now.

I honestly don’t think I’ll ever need to upgrade further. In my recent experience I have had GX eagle, NX eagle, and XT 11 speed, and I honestly think the Advent shift equal or cleaner than all of them.

Im not sensitive to shifter “quality”, I know which button to press when I need something to change and it does it. Could the shift be more “spongey”? Maybe but I can’t tell and I don’t have one of those groups now to test side by side with.

What really surprises me is how quiet it is when riding. That could have something to do with the new KMC chain too, but it doesn’t matter what gear I’m in, it’s silent.

I personally prefer the 48 to an eagle 50 or 52. I always felt the 50 had really awkward cadence, and the 48 is less awkward when paired with the standard 32t chainring.

Overall I couldn’t recommend it enough. For $215 total including cable housing and chain this is an incredible bargain.

Unfortunately I have only gotten 2 brief rides on it. Since I've completed the install I've been out of town back to back weekends, and my week day rides are almost all pre sunrise, so I stick to the drop bar bikes.

I'm home this coming weekend, so I will get a good rip on it then revisit the thread.

Did you go commercial or opt for DIY?

Commercial. Little guy 5 wide is what we had for about 4 years. I actually sold it in July. We plan to start a family next year and will need something a bit bigger, and the market is incredible for those little things, so I unloaded it at the top.

This was at Grand Lake, Colorado.
