  1. Various SBs available from Absolute for $105 per day - it's about a half-day drive from there to Tride. I'll actually be up in Salida at that time, if you need to stop off.
  2. Stop off in Salida and rent a Yeti from Absolute?

I’d strongly recommend a Texas License to Carry permit if you plan to do this, as it makes State Troopers in Colorado and New Mexico a good deal more relaxed if they pull you over, and if they ask if you have a firearm in the vehicle. As to the firearm, I guess it depends where you are going. Me, alone - I’d take one, for sure. If you feel you would rather ride with it than leave it in the vehicle, the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm is pretty compact and light. If you’re gonna stash it in the vehicle, there are plenty of after market secure storage options for vehicles.
  4. Doesn't really matter which club - but that's the last we'll see of him for 13 years.
  5. I'll be there today, plus grill and the 'shit' beer cooler.
  6. Well - Antonio might have a pool and a beer fridge, and has been collecting opioid prescriptions on behalf of a deceased relative for years, and ... well, these are the things I wish for, mid-Thumper.
  7. Wait, what? Is this a standing offer?
  8. October 19 is the first Saturday after ACL ends, but I wouldn't hold much stock by it - the weather's been nothing but complete fucking shit for two plus years now, and no sign that the storms, rain and flooding might magically end. If you can guarantee the weather, go ahead and book your trip!
  9. Bob received the grill, here's a pic from its first outing at R&I West. If anyone feels like chipping in, throw some cash at Nando when you see him. Otherwise, guess I just paid for this thing myself.
  10. That's pretty helpful - fairly sure I know someone at ESRI.
  11. First a couple of GIS analysts I know, and then yes, I will likely contact USGS.
  12. I'll do some digging - I'll be quite intrigued if the makers of US topo maps are scraping Strava. Either way, Strava is here to stay, I'm afraid.
  13. I've used TopoFusion for years, so I asked Scott, the creator of the application: "No idea! The maps are of USGS origin. Maybe they picked it up from an OSM map? Does it show up on any open street map layers? Try open cycle map." Looks like some detective work may be in order. The route has never been a big secret, so it's certainly possible that the map-makers got their hands on it, but I'm certainly curious as to how that process works. I wonder if "any other" trails are on there?
  14. Except I paid for it in full (since he's getting married today) - the idea was that Nando would chase down the usual suspects for a few bucks at R&I ... which hopefully he will still do.
  15. You're thinking of ARR, I'm pretty sure.
  16. We already have the real thing, buddy. https://www.bikereg.com/run-and-gun-gears-and-guns-biathlon-weekend-at-flat-rock-ranch
  17. Don't even get me started. After Jeremiah and the Disciples blew through Flat Creek, there was not much singletrack left. Rather than build their own lines, they used those convenient XC uphill climbs as gravity lines. I miss that place.
  18. There's that old juice place on Barton Springs Rd, but they're not GB-grade bikes.
  19. Well, it seems like a whole goddamn muthafuckin crowd of Mojos, who have their own goddamn muthafuckin private goddamn fuckin thread, decided to show up anyway, without bothering to tell anyone. Fuck the R&I, I'm just gonna make my own.
  20. I may do some urban-ness and then stop off for a chilled beverage on the way home. Got some EB stickers for you, Barry.
  21. Keep us posted! I'm at 45th and Mopac, and it rained a good bit there. But hey, 9 miles can make a difference ...
