Albert
Yep! Just disappointed they didn't follow the external view all the way to the ocean, I would have loved to seen it sitting there in the water momentarily before it either fell over and/or blew the hell up. Which is what looked like it was beginning to do on the live stream after it "landed".

Ridenfool
I think we did see the Booster tip over, but video cut off before it completed the fall into the Gulf. Definitely saw when Ship hit the water, but the camera was so toasted from the slag coming off of that melting flap that it wasn't much of a view. Happy to see that feather functioning well, all the way down, despite all the gooey bits dripping off. My curiosity left me wondering if SpaceX then hit the Flight Termination System to sink them, or, were they floating for a while and maybe got a SpaceX inspection before being scuttled. I'm not sure, we definitely saw lots of flame at the bottom after it landed, almost looked like it was about to assplode, but the video cut off before that. That thing is REALLY tall, it would have been pretty obvious if it was falling over in the video, although I'll need to go watch it again (I've seen it multiple times already). 2 hours ago, Ridenfool said: Definitely saw when Ship hit the water, but the camera was so toasted from the slag coming off of that melting flap that it wasn't much of a view. Yeah, it was absolutely amazing that the ship made it all the way for a soft landing, and that the flap was STILL FUNCTIONING even with all that damage and losing a big chunk of it on the way down! Just astounding, I could not believe it. I was fully expecting the ship to just break up at any moment while it was being pummeled by that plasma! 2 hours ago, Ridenfool said: My curiosity left me wondering if SpaceX then hit the Flight Termination System to sink them, or, were they floating for a while and maybe got a SpaceX inspection before being scuttled. Well, they knew exactly where Super Heavy landed (there were two different camera shots in the new video they posted this morning), so SpaceX certainly knows what happened to it, and it's possible they tried to recover it, we just don't know. But my guess is it broke up or exploded once tipping over. I'm sure they would have loved to examine it, though, to see how it fared on reentry. Starship is more of a problem since it landed in the middle of the Indian Ocean, and I doubt its landing was nearly as precise for this iteration. TheX
I saw a view from onboard where the booster absolutely tipped, but it cut out after going horizontal.

Ridenfool
Nice plane. Won't have a pilot though. 🙁 Looks like Burt Rutan's company Scaled Composites has a hand in it. They design very cool aircraft, like the EZ canard kit planes from years ago. His brother, Richard, was the first to fly around the world without refueling in a Scaled Composites design. They designed Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic space plane as well.

TheX
Here is an English Translation of the Full Apology by China's Pioneer space to the local residents that had the failed rocket. Space Pioneer has released a formal apology to local residents near its Gongyi test site. In English: Dear Gongyi residents, all counterparts and the general public: We would like to apologize most sincerely to the public who support and pay attention to our company for the incident that happened on June 30th, in which a sub-stage rocket of our company's Tianlong-3 Liquid Launch Vehicle fell down and caught fire due to a test fault, and we have failed to live up to everyone's expectations. The test site is far away from Gongyi city, before the test started, our company has improved the safety measures with the local government and organized the evacuation of the surrounding people in advance. The falling arrows were scattered in the safety control area deep in the mountains, which did not cause any casualties, but still caused unnecessary troubles and negative impacts on the lives of the residents around the test site. We feel immensely remorseful for this and would like to express our sincere apologies to the people of Gongyi City. Our company started the emergency response mechanism in advance on the day of the test, and is now cooperating with the local government to carry out the investigation, appraisal and compensation for the damaged houses in the neighborhood. We will ensure that every resident who suffered property damage due to the test failure will receive timely, efficient and fair compensation. (end part 1 of Translation to English) Since its establishment, Tianbing Technology (Space Pioneer) has been committed to the innovation and breakthrough of aerospace technology. We are fully aware that behind every challenge to scale new heights, there are huge risks and uncertainties. We will learn a lesson from this loss and put "safety first" into practice in our future production work, taking the safety of people's lives and properties as the highest starting point, and comprehensively strengthen the safety management to ensure that the subsequent test work is safe and rigorous and foolproof. Gongyi residents and people from all walks of life are welcome to supervise and check the implementation of our safety guarantee work, and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions! At present, China's commercial aerospace science and technology is developing rapidly, and the progress made by our company can not be separated from the unity, efforts and struggles of the whole industry, the whole nation and the whole society. The setbacks encountered by our company will provide valuable experience for our commercial space industry to move forward. Here, we call on our peers and allies to be united and work together to contribute to the progress of China's commercial space industry. Finally, we would like to express our sincerest apologies to all those who have been affected by the failure of the test! We look forward to continuing to receive your support, understanding and attention in the days to come!
