  1. Its a bit mixed for sure. Theres a good flow line along the fence and also the general handbuilt mayhem trails that exist in texas. one thing i did like was some of the kickers were wood instead of soil that gets blown out and never serviced (*cough seguin & cedar park bmx). They're doing some big event soon and it's supposed to have had good turnout in the past. i dont have FB but here's the link https://www.facebook.com/seguinmtb/
  2. This^ A lot has changed in 35 years. HP is around half what group B was putting out but, the dampers, tires, traction control and engine tractability ETC is far ahead of what existed back then. The old turbos were so laggy that the driver would have to mash the brakes and the gas to load the engine up and keep the turbo spinning for the apex. The resulting glowing rotors during night winter stages looked pretty cool though😎 Some of the teams also cheated with plastic roll cages to keep the weight down which got a few people hurt. It was definitely the wild west of racing at the time, and those drivers were true grit.
  3. dunno why i thought cushcore(?) i have the vittoria air liner in rear only. pretty much same as nukeproof but different profile. Buddy in SLC swears by assegai up front
  4. you have cushcore F&R. tire weight is no longer a concern for you😁 to be fair, I have this on the back of my commencal with an insert. TB85973000 27.5X2.50WT 63-584 60 WIRE 1,335 3C MAXX GRIP 65 NA Black DOWNHILL
  5. Went today and it's actually in worse condition than milburn and also way smaller. There's a better option just a couple miles down the road with more flow and some MTB trails as well. https://www.seguinolc.org/BikeSkillsPark.aspx
  6. Going to be in New Braunfels this weekend and may take a detour out to seguin with the new pseudo pumptrack bike. I'll post up if I do. it hasn't changed. probably worse than before
  7. Big Jim always had the crunch
  8. this x 100 Make em a deal. As soon as the COA actually does something about the homeless epidemic, then i'm down with pedestrian bridges. Until then, the city leaders can go f@ck themselves.
  9. Probably best misfits cover one could ask for....
  10. I can go full random on you........ Saint short cage + SLX derailleur =SLEE
  11. They're all over the place. I've had 2.6 schwalbe in sticky vs regular compounds that measured different widths. Same model and size. Only true volume measurement is laying tire carcass flat and measuring bead to bead. Wider rim width shortens height a bit too. I'd do 2.6 all day long on a 27.5. Currently running a 2.6 DHF and will probably switch to an assegai and move to rear once minion SS wears out. anecdotal but interesting test on vital: It'd be interesting to swap the fork/wheel out of the 29 to your giant but you'd probably have to reduce it to 120mm.
  12. In the gig economy, it's all about networking.
  13. Got into MTB just as 29ers were hitting the floors and owned both those and 26ers. To me the 27.5 was the copy/printer/fax/scanner of tire sizes. It was promised to be the best of the 26 & 29 but ended up being the lesser of each. Id like to try a mullet combo on my 27.5 but it'd be too slack.
  14. Thanks Bike was 135QR so i had to come up with a way to tension the chain without adding one of those derailleur-ish units. The MRP has a cog on the lower guide that serves as a tensioner. I had to loosen the BB and rotate the unit until the chain was the correct tension and then re-tighten the BB cup (no iscg tabs). A bit of a PITA but it works.
  15. Bought for project and never used. $30 firm please
  16. Bought this small 27.5 bike from peddler last christmas for my kid. I think she rode it once, so she pretty much had zero interest in it. My options were to let it hang on the wall for another year and collect dust, or do something fun/different. Ended up building a pseudo pump bike that was supposed to be cheap/simple but ended up being far from that. After all the headaches it turned out pretty cool. I still suck at bigger jumps/gaps and hoping this will be a good bike to go practice on. Worst case I can always put it back on the wall🤣 Pike Rct3 reduced to 110mm FSA orbit WTB Frequency i23 team laced to DT350s w. 18t wolf SS cog Onzo Skinwalls Race Face 165mm crank w. 34t ring MRP Mega G4 Spank 40mm stem Spank 750x 60mm risers ODI vans grips blah blah blah..... Only stock stuff I reused were the tektro brakes, rotors, and seat/post.
  17. Currently in chill mode with Les
  18. Riders with shorter inseams that don't want the tire buzz of a 29 in the back but prefer the rollover they offer in the front. Will probably build a 160mm travel 27.5 with a 150mm 29 mullet up front next for the wife. I was excited to see this but intense really screwed the pooch on that one. It's just the 29 frame with a plus tire in the back with all the shock tuning issues that come with it. They should have added the rear 27.5 triangle to the 29 frame but i digress..... In professional Enduro and DH it seems to. Real world? Who knows. My biggest struggle going back and forth between wheel sizes was lazy line choice. The 29 plowed stuff the 27.5 would try to tomahawk me over. Yes. My commencal has a 27.5 x 2.6 on a 35mm rim that measures out around 28.3". You can add some height back with tire choice.
