Posting this here instead of the "pay it forward" thread to keep things compacted. Have some basics that are taking up space and aren't much use to us. I'd much rather it go to one of you than dumping it off at YB. I don't deliver but live in south austin and travel to bastrop weekly. I use a bosu when doing squats and yes it changes things quite a bit. It has definitely helped improve my balance as i get older and slower. Agree that the PI pedals would appear to work at the gym but, IRL felt large, clumsy, yet not very grippy when i tried them. They seem to fall into the category of high concept/low execution seen in other less than popular bike innovations.

"I think there was somethng else too, regarding another thread I started. Or maybe it was all the threads I started. Shoot, I lost count of how many times these particulr folk seemed to have a seatpost up their butt over what I posted" http://www.bikemojo.com/speak/members/11545.html 78 threads started by you in the 15 months you were on mojo and you haven't learned yet. The problem is you. I don't know what insight you can add when all of your experience is based on technology that is over a decade old. It'd be like me adding my 2c in a discussion about fuel injection when all i've owned is cars with carburetors. You copy/paste/post all of these new concepts and bike parts that you have no intention of buying and can only "wonder" how it would work. Did you ever build/buy those 29 & 27.5 wheels? Did you rebuild your seized lefty fork? Did you buy that rear shock? Do you even own the bike in your avatar? Problem is people like myself get tired of having discussions with someone who never acts on, or finishes the projects they were inquiring and received advice for. You could, at a minimum stop the C/P/P stories as most of us are on MTBR and PInkbike saw this crap six months ago. Hell, who's actually interested in buying a fork that looks like a dildo designed by HR Giger? You have an old bike, and that's fine. Nobody is judging you for that. Just understand you're outside your wheelhouse on a vast majority of these discussions and then get your feelings hurt when called out on it.

Wanted to spread the word about Bastrop Signs as a local source for custom decals and signs. Needed some rim decals ETC for a build and was referred to Matt over at Bastrop where he was able to use the vector file from the manufacturer and his color pantone to create a perfect match to the frame. Something that has been very difficult to do when using companies from out of state or in Europe. The good quality and price is on par with what i've purchased from stikrd and slik, but the customer service and satisfaction of dealing with a local, family owned business is something the other guys cant compete with. Give Matt a shout if you're looking for some custom fork, wheel or general purpose decals. https://www.instagram.com/bastropsign https://bastropsigns.com/

How about just moving this thread to the marketplace? I have quite a bit of bike stuff thats not popular enough to sell online but also too nice for yellowbike. Id rather it go to the locals on this board.

Latest video games + kids = MTB threat?
ATXZJ replied to Tree Magnet's topic in Mountain Biking Discussion
Totally agree here. The midlife crisis these 20 somethings and kids experience will be off the f@cking charts. -
meh..... If you really want to know if wider platforms would work, then there's nothing stopping you from finding out for yourself but you.
-
With all due respect, why don't you stop wondering and try it for yourself?

That actually made me LoL on this thread. Nice job sir

Latest video games + kids = MTB threat?
ATXZJ replied to Tree Magnet's topic in Mountain Biking Discussion
There's a lot of truth to that. See a kid out by themselves, and first thing you think is something is wrong. If you're a parent you worry about about being judged or worse yet, reported for sending them out into the wild (which they need). Sad thing is, the streets are WAY safer than they were when we were kids, yet everyone is so terrified of the outside world. Bizarre. On the MTB topic, both my kids were in NICA and the biggest challenge to mountain biking was extracurricular / after school activities. Football marching band is a f@cking cult in texas and devours all of your free time. Thankfully, my oldest quit band after she realized she was getting nothing out of it and doubled down on academics. -

Should probably start with the parents first https://www-esquire-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.esquire.com/lifestyle/sex/amp23279319/fortnite-video-game-causing-divorces/?amp_js_v=a2&amp_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQECAFYAQ%3D%3D#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&amp_tf=From %1%24s&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.esquire.com%2Flifestyle%2Fsex%2Fa23279319%2Ffortnite-video-game-causing-divorces%2F We have teenage girls so gaming is not an issue and for the most part, neither is social media. It's a complete anomaly and I give my wife full credit for that. We do have issues with binge watching of Netflix. Over the summer, I'd leave for work and come home and theyre still on the couch watching TV in the same f@cking clothes. Keep in mind we just moved to a house with a full country club, gym, pool, restaurant, etc. They could hang out at the the pool and order cheeseburgers on our tab. Nope, still on the couch. As chief said, all I wanted to do was run the streets as a kid and look for kicks. Now, kids just want to live vicariously. That was until I put the router on a timer 🤣 -
This was our experience as well. For us, it was just cool to get off the grid and go ride. Most of the trails like fresno were really basic singletrack with some steep, punchy climbs and a smattering of soft sand to keep the heart rates up. Don't forget to check out the abandoned quicksilver mine when your out there. Lajitas was a lot more fun to ride than the state park area plus had a cool canyon section towards the back end. We had good weather as we stayed around the xmas break and dodged all the heat. TV, internet, chaos and traffic were replaced with eclectic people & places, vast expanses and holy sh*t, beautiful starry nights. We also took a drive up to the basin and were blown away by the amount of tree growth and especially the aspen trees growing this far south. Definitely recommend for a much needed getaway.

Yes, take this an example of answering questions in real life. I was interested in PI pedals, tried a set and bought something else. No FB required. Again, what was your question? What is motivating you to ask this (question)? Your original post was at a minimum ambiguous. *Do you have foot pain? *Are you trying to alleviate your pain by purchasing large platform pedals? *Are your cheapo pedals having issues? *Do you have hobbit feet?
-
"And that my good friends... Is how it's done." Now back to your copy/paste/post Exactly what question were you asking or what discussion were you initiating with this; "For $99 that is... Or so they say..."? Yes, I have heard of PI, looked into them, played around on a set at a NICA event and decided to pass. They were in my opinion too large and heavy for whatever advantage they may have offered over a traditional platform. I and a few of my buddies use DMR vaults as they are a larger platform, with a shallow concave and reasonably light for the cost.

touche' ...that's what i get for being lazy I ride/rode both. It's just something you get used to as there's a benefit to each of them. I had to use SPDs on my cross bike as it spent most of it's time trying to kill me, and being clipped in was the only way to keep my feet on the pedals on a full rigid bike at speed. I can totally see why professional DH racers are clipped in, and its certainly not for pedal efficiency.

What actual value did bartman bring into any discussion? Im at a loss. Besides, this is just one website that finally told him no. He still has mojo, and up until a month or so ago, thats all he had and he was happy to wallow in that.
-
so why post an article on something you have no intention of buying? Its also pedal, not peddle.
-
so when are you buying a set?
-
There's an entire forum for that and this type of thread. https://austinmountainbiking.com/index.php?/forum/12-general-chat/

Mojo was a ghost town before the bots took over, so nothing new if this site is slow at times. Objectively, the only real activity on the mojo was when there was some sort of fighting with either bartman or riding again. That's not a MTB forum, its the comment section on TMZ. There's plenty of sites out there to insult one another in anonymity.
