  1. Perhaps we just need additional signs reminding people not to stop at blind corners or on the trail, and some signs/plaques thanking and acknowledging the trail builders and groups so people realize that the MTB aren't invading, they are actually making this happen! I think most people just think the trails were there forever and the trees and rocks just grew into berms...
  2. I've also noticed hikers and dogs are getting more and more frequent as well. I need to get a better bell.
  3. I was there around 3:45pm, as I rode to the entrance to Peddler's saw a bunch of people riding, got to the entrance and saw the chain up and very wet looking trails. I will give people the benefit of the doubt and they think "it's muddy but I'll just wash my bike and be safe so it's okay", they are not thinking "it's muddy and our soil just can't handle it and I'm going to ruin the trails". At least I hope it's just ignorance and not just being selfish...
  4. I'm just hoping it's dry by Friday afternoon. Supposed to be sunny, and I actually have the day off!
  5. If it's just me, my favorite is to just throw the bike in the bed. Latest truck I bought had a 80" bed so I don't need to pull of a wheel or anything. I have to open up the tonneau if I leave the wheels on since my bars is pretty wide. I can fit the kids bikes in the bed and close up the tonneau, and then toss a hitch rack on the back too, and do like having the option to load up with gear in the bed, and hang a few bikes off the back if I need to.
  6. Once my dog quits tracking in mud, I'll assume the trails will be good. He's still bringing mud inside (one bare patch in the yard and he found it).
  7. I look forward to riding these new features sometime in August when it stops raining every few days.
  8. I've seen a couple, mostly little green snakes that I tried not to crush. They were probably attracted my bike (bright green diamondback, haha)
  9. My rain gauge after the storm read 4.5", and my yard doesnt have standing water but anywhere without grass is mud. Figures as soon as the pollen gets washed away so do the trails!!
  10. The Bike Share companies are taking losses, likely because of the scooters. Was in The Statesman today or yesterday. It's absolutely replacing walking and cycling. Some kid was moving them enough to set off the alarm and then moving on to the next one on Saturday, it was pretty entertaining to watch.
  11. I've been really happy with my Nobby Nics.
  12. I lift weights, martial arts, hike, & ride. My days are pretty sedentary, I need to do as much other stuff as possible.
  13. Trails were great yesterday, only a couple wet spots.
  14. I think the wind and eventual sun will dry it out.
  15. I'll have to check my rain gauge but I think we got about a 1/2" near brushy last night and today. I'm hoping it's dry on Sat. when I finally have a chance to ride. If you see a goober on a bright green bike wearing a bunch of pads say hi.
  16. So I go and buy a new bike this spring, promptly shatter my radial head into about 5 pieces, miss the entire summer for riding, finally get cleared to ride in mid-Sept and then every single weekend...I got one good ride in, and on Saturday got to ride on pavement and gravel. GRRRRRR.
