  1. Some light reading. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-fire-pandemic-team/
  2. We're somewhat fortunate to be living were we are geographically, meaning the Austin area. They just announced two presumptive cases in Travis county, a 30 year old woman and a 60 year old man. The woman self quarantined and the man is hospitalized. The man was transferred from another hospital and the woman had just gotten back from Houston. She's going to be more of a concern then the man will. So back to being fortunate, we're in an environment that can allow people to easily work from home and remotely. This thing has been exploding in the denser populations and we're just starting to see potential actual cases thus giving us a little bit more time to prepare and educate ourselves about how to slow down the spread. We are not going to be able to stop this anytime soon, but if we can prevent it from spiking we have a much better chance of coming out the other side good. So basically if you're feeling run down maybe a little warm and have a new dry cough, don't be an alpha asshole and keep going about your life like it's just a cold STAY IN YOUR F@CKING HOUSE! We've become such a selfish society and that's going to be the nail in the coffin if we don't check ourselves and our egos. This has been a public service announcement. Thank you😁
  3. this guy has some pretty good information about COVID-19 and the reality of what's to come.
  4. Went for a walk with the dogs and wife last night. It was kind of weird considering how nice the weather was. Typically on a night like last night we'd see many other people out walking with their kids and dogs. We walked around the neighborhood for about 40 minutes and saw nobody until we were getting back to the house, we saw a father with his dog and kids. I'm thinking being outside is the safest place to be.
  5. An account I follow on IG posted they were trying to fly back to the US and Delta was charging $27,000.00 for a one way business class seat. They said they paid $5000.00 for their tickets. Fuck the airlines and anyone else that chooses to profit in this manner during this pandemic!
  6. My wife went to Costco yesterday and the shelves were empty. No TP or paper towels and most everything that is essential was gone.
  7. The bearings should spin smoothly without feeling like it has notches or gritty.
  8. It's the first drop traveling eastward on what is upper picnic, picnicX right next to the H&B. The bigger one that's about 5'.
  9. Apple, Samsung and the like are reputable companies also. Batteries were igniting in peoples pockets. The idea of it is pretty scary though. Any battery can become unstable.
  10. I think all we need to stop the Ebike thing is a couple of peoples houses burning down while recharging their Ebike. We all remember the power wheels and hoverboards😂
  11. Good to hear you’re back on the bike!
  12. I would think he adds about as much to this forum as he does to society.
  13. I have a game you can play. It’s called hide and go fuck yourself!!!!
  14. Once more in case you didn’t understand the first time. FUCK OFF🖕👆👆!!!!!
  15. FUCK OFF🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕!!!!!!!
  16. Lately there seems to be a reemerging trend in MTB suspension design. The high pivot rear suspension. Commencal has of lately been crushing the competition with their high pivot downhill rig. The high pivot idea is not new but it appears that the engineers have finally gotten the geo and suspension kinematics dialed to work well in real world situations. I like the idea of the design allowing the rear wheel to start its travel with less resistance effectively getting the rear wheel to just travel over obstacles without trying to get hung up on roots, ledges and rocks. Kind of like a trailing link fork design. There are now a handful of companies dedicated to this platform, is this the new direction mountain bikes are going or just another marketing fad? Any thoughts? I'm game to give one of these a try.
  17. One of my neighbors was on blood thinners after a heart attack. About three or four years ago I came home from work on New Years eve and there was a bunch of cop cars and an ambulance at my neighbors house, I assumed he had another heart attack. I find out later that he was on a ladder with a pole saw trimming tree branches. The ladder slipped and twisted he fell about fifteen feet landing on a flagstone patio hitting his head that caused bleeding around his brain, due to the blood thinners they couldn't get the bleeding under control and he died. He was the same age as me very eye opening experience. Go easy out there and and remember most traumatic bicycle head injuries occur at less than fifteen miles an hour.
  18. I agree. Up and Over was much better than Mulligan.
  19. I was out there Sunday and ran into a couple families out walking the trails. The sad part of this is that many times the hikers have the attitude that the trail is for them and not MTBers. I don't think that these people know or realize that if not for the MTB community none of these trails would exist. I think that people are generally ignorant and think that the trails have been built by the county or city for pedestrian use. I completely understand that once these trails are in place they become public multi use which is fine, I always yield to pedestrians but sometimes it's hard when they're just standing at a blind point in the trail. Many times these people are oblivious to anything around them and are staring at their phones not paying attention to their surroundings. It's crazy that as we evolve with all of this "Social connection" that we have at our fingertips we seem to be coming more antisocial.
  20. People are cutting B lines all over 1/4 Notch.
  21. Adelberts was out of Flyin' Monks for a little while. Waiting for it to age.
