  1. They are on the inside of the turns on the newer section where it gets close to the park entrance. I understood right away that they mark the turns, and like you say if they were removed there would be no clear indication of where the turns are and people would be cutting the turns. As you ride the trail more you'll get used to the trees being there. Like I said in previous post it was my first time riding it in the new direction and I did get close to the trees but no worse than anything else we ride around here. There is plenty of width on those sections of trail to avoid getting too close to the trees you just need to pick your entrance/exit correctly.
  2. I think he's talking about trees on the sides of the trail. You get close to a few of them, but if you visualize the line you want to take and control your speed they're no worse than some of the trees you encounter on 1/4-DD.
  3. Rode the new direction complete for first time yesterday. Lap time of 20.05. Had a couple of slow downs one for another rider and one to stop and ask if a kid was alright he crashed his junk hard on the stem, he was riding with his dad and brother. I know I can improve my time considering this was my first time in the new direction and wasn't familiar with all the new trail. The trail will get faster as all the new additions get worn in. A lot of the new stuff has ruts that will get filled and packed as more people ride the trail. Are there plans for more berms on the new sections? There definitely are some turns that would benefit from them. Time was on my FS 29 120/140 65.5 HA. Hans Dampf up front at 23psi Nobby Nic out back at 28psi. The new sections that are all loose limestone ate my rear tire, tore about 80% of lugs off the casing. Need to consider something a little more durable.
  4. Hopefully the rock section will stay the same now instead of every time you hit it it's different.
  5. I have the Brand X on both my bikes. Solid dropper. No issue after two years.
  6. Just got back from 3hrs. Trails were excellent as was the weather. Go get some before it's a 100 f**king degrees. Didn't ride 1/4 or DD but what we did ride was excellent. Great ride Throet, Morris, and Christian, had a real good time. It's good to get out with good people.
  7. Video or it didn't happenšŸ˜‚
  8. I relaced a wheel for a friend that had Cush core in it. What a PIA the Cush core is when trying to get the tire centered on the wheel. Tire had a massive wobble with the Cush core. The Cush core would be a giant headache if you need to service your tire on the trail. Not for me.
  9. Yeah I saw that yesterday morning.
  10. There is a cut through between Dub Step and Pre Plunge that I have repeatedly blocked but to no avail. There is also a by pass at Puzzler that goes around the trees with the rocks, only saw that one last time I rode, didn't get a chance to block it. There are a couple others, one after Loyd Bridges after the rock feature I think is called Bird Song? Where it steps down to the small downhill section before going back into the woods. I have also tried to block that one a couple of times with no success. People suck!
  11. I've found that anything that goes through Chicago customs is a crap shoot and can take forever to get cleared. I've ordered stuff from oversea that went through Chicago and when I received the package it's had other items in it that had nothing to do with what I ordered.
  12. I've got a Raceface 32t round 104 bcd it's red. PM me.
  13. I'm sorry but being a transvestite is not a physical disability.
  14. If you need an electric shopping cart due to an injury or a real physically limiting disability that's perfectly fine, that was what those carts were intended for. And no I would not have looked down on you I probably wouldn't have even noticed you. I think many people have been out shopping and seen people using those carts just because they thought it would be "FUN". I loathe these type of people because they think just because something like that is available they're entitled to use it possibly leaving someone who really needs it without. As far as your experience running out of juice on one of those scooters it brings this to mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csuZHyW-iGI
  15. I'm ok with people having fun. The point of me posting this was to explain how the article changed my view of E-bikes for helping people with limited physical abilities. I still think that if you can ride a non power assisted bike you should. Do whatever makes you happy, that's fine I have no problem with that. But when I run into a perfectly capable rider riding an E-bike on the trail and he's like "hey look at me" I might consider that person an ass hat and quickly lose interest. I think the E-bikes would be an excellent solution to some of the traffic issues we see as a rapidly growing city. I'm sure there are many European cities where E-bikes are used all the time as an efficient mode of transportation.
  16. I think that if you want to compete it requires a USAC license.
  17. Yeah they are. https://www.velonews.com/2018/09/news/uci-to-organize-e-mtb-world-championships-in-2019_479427
  18. They were only mad because they're city workers and now they were gonna have to work.
  19. Now for some thing a little more juvenile. Makes me snicker every time I hear it. This is definitely ear buds required especially if there are little ones around.
