  1. Never had a close call here, but had a very close call at Palo duro canyon. Came around a corner at a decent clip and it was sunning in the middle of the trail. Only had time to bunny hop him! The rider behind me said he missed my calf by millimeters. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.azcentral.com/amp/3020169002 This guy has real stones of steel!
  2. Your forgetting the: no brakes= street BMX Super powerful brakes= street trials. The no helmet/helmet thing has to do with sound judgment! which alot of pro street style athletes don't seem to have. Talking skate boarding, bikes, and parkour.
  3. The progression of street BMX over the last 20 years is absolutely insane! Especially considering the technology of the equipment has essentially not changed as it has in mountain biking.
  4. I got to agree with Seth, I’m a very casual racer and am happy to race anything with 2 wheels. I’ve done 24 hr race (2 man team and 4 man, I’m not a sadist), and a 100 mile mtb race before and it maybe that this is the most recent experience (the pain your in now is always more than the pain you were in, in the past), but the o’rock epic enduro is currently in my memory as the most grueling race I’ve ever done! Just my 2 cents.
  5. They should build a caldera jump! Probably would take about as much work as filling it in, and then I would have a good excuse to keep using that word on a semi-regular basis😁
  6. I stop by yesterday to see if they were still allowing voting for the $10k they were giving to a local cycling organization, since most of the voting was during the winter stormzilla! They weren’t but still had some of the swag shirts they were giving away and I score one. I thought that was pretty cool. The store was just slightly different, but still had the same basic vibe.
  7. They are pretty awesome looking. They are expensive! And looking at them I don’t think they are overpriced, just an expensive luxury item I can’t justify owning. Now I just need a rich friend that likes hucking things randomly🤣
  8. A lot of work ahead! At least chainsaws are fun😁
  9. #5 has some good flowy berms and a really well built table top that the speed you carry into it is perfect to clear it and it was hardtail friendly (that's what I was on today). For the rest someone else can probably give you a better description as I haven't ridden them since they have been labled, but I'll take a guess. I figure #1 is likely the new wooden roll in with the wood berm that drops you into what use to be the old right line. #2 is likely the old left line that you can also split off to Randy's elbow. #3 would then be the newish big line with the big drop to steep step up to another big drop and step up, to big wooden berm to steep roll out to end of trail. #4 would then be the old return route that is no longer a return (I should have checked that one out). #5 as above. #6 Didn't realize there was a #6 unless it's the new return route. Someone let me know how close I am to correct or how wrong I am!
  10. Just got back from my ride and got to ride bob ross in both directions and I hit snail trail #5 three times. Awesome work by both crews!!! Thanks a lot!!! Also found out I’m in terrible shape😁
  11. No rush, I’ve had the paint and clear coat carted since you started this thread and haven’t ordered yet. Figure I’ll order today just so I can start sometime this spring before the temps consistently get above 75 degrees.
  12. That looks awesome! Would you be willing to loan me your 3D printed frame inserts for when I paint my son frame?
  13. This is truly a question for learning purposes and not a jab at either side of the energy extremes and brought to mind by the previous landfill comment. Are the massive amounts of batteries that are currently required for electric cars recyclable or are we going to have the same problem we’re having with old smart phones 5-10 years down the line?
  14. Not silly at all. My daughter is tubeless and I can’t wait to get my two younger ones tubeless, because I’m tired of patching slow leaks every two or three rides from small and sometimes large thorns. The primary place I take them for a quick after work rides is full of pointy things.
  15. Those look to be a much better budget friendly option than the V6.
  16. What pedals are you running? I tried to go cheap and bought DMR V6 and they are complete crap and huge. I now am waiting for the SDG slater kid pedals to get here. Lesson learned!
  17. Brakeless! I hear it’s faster! Works for BMX dudes!
  18. I snuck a lot of parts in on the Christmas bonanza and spread out the buying to keep the questioning by the better half to a minimum🤣
  19. They are giving away $5k to a local cycling group, and choosing by vote of people who stop by one of their stores from Feb 6-21st. Even if your not a member of ARR I would encourage everyone on this forum to swing by and cast a vote for ARR as they do a ton to keep our local trails open! (Probably preaching to the choir here😁)
  20. The only downside I had to her building, is she got to pick the garage music and so there was a lot of Adele and kids bop🤣
  21. Have to agreed here! I have a set of i9 backcountry torch wheels and weigh 220lbs and they are likely the best built wheels I’ve owned. I’ve bent the spokes with large rocks flipping up from my plus tires and the wheel has remained true. I’d definitely shoot them an email or give a call and bet they would make it right.
