  1. All I can say is don’t touch my foot.
  2. In ‘97 we had a bad ice storm that did a number on our trees. And with 10 wooded acres there were a lot at risk. The sound was the spookiest thing - it sounded like somebody hitting a baseball with an aluminum bat, followed by what sounded like breaking glass. It sounded like we were in a war zone. We probably lost 15 medium to large Live Oaks, and major limbs from another 70 or so. The junipers mostly leaned over and sprang back up once the ice melted but six or eight of them laid over and their root balls just popped out of the ground. It took me two years to clean up the mess, particularly farther from the house. We’ve lost a dozen limbs so far this year and are hoping we don’t get any more freezing rain. Heck, we lost four or five limbs to the big snow in January.
  3. Agreed! Our whole family read that at the beginning of the Pandemic.
  4. Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose.
  5. Can’t keep a good dog down.
  6. We have ridden the trail at Dripping Springs Ranch Park a few times. It is nice but I wouldn’t recommend traveling much distance for it. I’m glad it exists but unless I could piece together a safe and fun way to ride to the ride, I probably won’t ride it much.
  7. We had been planning a family ride on NewYear’s Day at Walnut Creek but that ain’t happening. Still talking about some kind of urban ride but members of our party will likely balk at the idea of riding in the 40s. Fortunately we did get in a family ride at Muleshoe on Sunday.
  8. Portability is what we look for in a dog.
  9. I was confused. It is a ‘96 with a 5.8. Rode to the trailhead today in it.
  10. It is a ‘94. My son just purchased it. It is his first vehicle he bought with his own money. He’s so proud of it... I’m not sure about the power train yet.
  11. No, we got back from out west a few weeks ago but I just got access to photos that we took on the trip. To make room on my phone I put all my pictures on my daughters computer and they just returned.
  12. No photos but we saw a squadron of javelinas on two different rides in Sedona in the last week. Almost collided with one.
  13. My kids grew up around mountain bikes (both rode in utero), went through the trailer then the tag-along phase, and have ridden with us their whole lives (now 20 and 23). We have been with our daughter and her boyfriend in Sedona the past couple of weeks and it has been so fun to see her technical skills on display. We ended up on a really fun black diamond trail called Ground Control and she was solid! I was 40 when she was born and I told myself at the time that I wanted to stay in good enough shape to do real mountain bike rides with them.
