I think it would be fun to ride, but not on MTB trails. There are places in the Sierra Nevada's that I would love to take it to.

I'd say that well over half of riders that I run into are on flats. But I'm old and slow so....

Here's a Tele I did with Masonite and 2x4's in a Danelectro style. Ended up surf green with a scratch built neck.

No, the fingerboard was just a slab of cocobolo. I Shaped the neck with a spoke shave, and used a hand plan to shape the fingerboard. Then I cut the fret slots and added the binding. Did the frets by hand also. I thought I had pics of the fingerboard blank before I started, but I don't see any. The pickups are stacked P-100's, and wired for coil splitting.

It's been fun but I think this thread has run its course. I can't see the many paragraphs of nonsense and finger pointing so off I go to something else.

I do miss clipless when trying to clear a climb over "stuff". It seemed to give me that little bit extra. That's it though.

I wear five tens, and so far they have worked well.

I tried flats after reading a thread on Mojo long ago, and have been on them since, on mountain bikes. I use SPD on my gravel bike.

We were out there doing trail work today, and it's muddy. People should NOT have been riding yet.
