  1. Anyone interested in riding this route on Sunday? I’ve done it multiple times solo but would welcome company. I ride a rigid 29er with 2.2 light CX tires and will probably avg about 12mph. I usually take a short break at city park and watch the sunrise and usually have to walk the very top of Courtyard as well as the beginning of Jester. My availability is either very early or mid morning.
  2. Thanks for posting this BTW —alllowed me (along with check of Hydromet) to get a ride in Friday morning.
  3. Thanks for the reply. I should have been more clear. I do know and use that technique often and on have on SB. I’ve just grown a bit tired of it so I’m tempted to lift off that top and I’m curios how that’s done. Maybe I’m out because it involves willingness to crash as part of learning curve. I buck some drops, with clean landings. This one has that second area that means you have to be centered and balanced before it. And SB is all rock if I recall, and I’m not willing to learn on that one.
  4. Ya, confirms my apprehension. It’s that second little drop that stops me from trying. I’m leary of exactly what happens in this vid- that i’d be off balance regarding weight shift front/back and get tossed. Lack of suspension no doubt made this harder. Also, having a longish wheel base seems like it gives more stability but it also means less space to complete the first drop entirely before the second. What size frame was that? Any advice from those who ride this regularly without incident? I ride FS XL frame with dropper btw.
  5. An acquaintance of mine- Todd D did something like this a year or two back. IIRC he started at 12-1am and I believe rode LGT prior to EB. I think he finished that but then fell short of some other crazy goal he had for the end of his epic epic.
  6. just my experience but year i rode it, my group of three finished dead last. we had passed one group of 4 (we went in Thumper and they were behind) saw them next at finish line already there for a while. there were also several individuals we passed that were at finish line before us. another year i cheered from HOL and saw group in lead that didn’t look like elite riders. i asked and they had skipped Rudy’s loop - let them know but they were non concerned. checked later on strava and saw they skipped another mile in City Park.
