  1. Whenever I'm down about how beaten and broken my body is, I think of you and find solace. 😆
  2. Man dude I'm so sorry to hear this! I know how debilitating back pain can be. It's also one of the most over operated on conditions we suffer from. Get more than one opinion if you can, and give your body some rest.
  3. Too cold for me early tomorrow but will probably get out around 10am if anybody is interested.
  4. Here's a link to another thread where somebody used Cracked Carbon Repair here in town.
  5. Yeah really surreal in a post-apocalyptic sort of way. Had a blast and will definitely return there. Picked up the pace on the second lap which really helped to create some flow. Seemed to me like a cross between LGT and Pedernales. Post-ride refreshments at the marina definitely add to the appeal. One more new trail checked off the list for this year!
  6. @ATXZJIs the plan to meet at the Marina on Sunday? Do you know what the fees are to get into the park?
  7. I know some of you guys like to start really early, but I'm planning to get around 9am tomorrow if anybody is interested.
  8. I'm on my second round with this stuff and feel compelled to give it a thumbs up. It's definitely very different from the Russel's Reserve and WT Rare Breed Ryes that I've been enjoying, which are both much closer to a bourbon profile. I'd say that I enjoy both of those more than this one, but this is very unique and worthy of an occasional pour. At 90proof it packs more heat than I would have expected, and the spicy finish really lingers. I can say with certainty that this is leaps and bounds better than the Hickory Hill 100% Rye that I tried a few months ago at around the same price point.
  9. Appreciate the offer. Looks like we've got a small group planning to ride on Sunday, Nov 14 at noon. You're welcome to join us if you'd like.
  10. Cat was a blast! We ended up making a wrong turn and spent an hour or so just going up and down sections on the side of the hill. Finally made our way back up to where we started and then followed a couple of guys on the proper route. Then climbed the street back to the starting point and rode top to bottom once again. Didn't do anything extreme but still managed to get a little air time.
  11. Well I managed to check off three more Central Texas trails since starting this thread last year, 1) Dana Peak, 2) Pedernales Falls, and 3) Cat Mtn. Looking to hit Madrone before Thanksgiving. Cameron Park is still on my list. Believe Flat Rock is closed for the year now, but will definitely plan to get out there once they re-open.
  12. I'm supposed to be meeting up somewhere today with @Morrisand another buddy. Not sure where yet but will let you know in case you want to meet up.
  13. Not sure if this stuff is regularly available, but just ordered a bottle for pickup tomorrow as I've heard some really good reviews on it. Apparently it's cheaper here in Texas as the reports I saw listed it retailing on average at around $55. Will report back once I've had a chance to try it.
  14. Anybody completed this Strava Club Challenge? It looks like the early part of next week might be the only real nice stretch of riding there for the rest of the year (at least for those of us who prefer temps in the 60s). Plus my cousin who lives there tells me the fall foliage is primo right now. I considering taking this on but can't figure out where the actual routes are posted for this challenge.
  15. Well, unless you're a Jay Z fan, which I'm not.
  16. There are many Rock & Roll Hall of Fame snubs that can be debated, but The Guess Who is one that really stands out for me. Sure they were a relatively short-lived Top 40 group, but they were by no means one-hit wonders. The Guess Who's hits will forever be etched in the memories of us who grew up in the 60s/70s.
  17. Not sure if the trails are even dry enough yet, but I'm out for tomorrow morning due to workers being here at the house. I'm going to try and get a lunch ride in tomorrow though if things dry out enough.
  18. I don't know anything about compatibility for 8/9 speed chains, but I know that I needed different master links for the SRAM 11spd, SRAM 12spd, and Shimano 10spd. Regarding replacement of your chain, that should be done when it's worn out and not just because you broke a link. The bike shop can tell you when to replace the chain, or you can get a gauge that measures how stretched out it is. You should notice some degradation with your shifting when it is time to replace the chain.
  19. As my whiskey journey continues, I'm trying to settle into a solid rotation. Just got back from TW, and replenished the Four Roses Single Barrel and the OF 1920, both having become staples for me. I've decided to also always keep something on hand in the $25 - $30 range for visitors who want to mix with Coke, but something that's good enough to sip on should I choose to. Finally got around to picking up a bottle of the Elijah Craig Small Batch, and I'm pleasantly surprised. This is definitely something I could sip on regularly, and for $27 will reach for regularly. There are so many bottles on my list that I've yet to find in stock. Pikesville Rye and Willet Rye are among those I haven't found. I'm thoroughly enjoying that WT Rare Breed Rye though that @Barryrecommended, and will always keep a bottle on hand for as long as it is readily available.
  20. Hey guys what would be the consensus on start time if we were to try and formalize this ride series? Keep in mind that time change is coming soon, and would enable a little earlier start for those who need it. @Chief @Cafeend @Morris @WLemke @bestbike85 @TAF @Albert @skinned elbows I slept in this morning but do plan to go out around 9:30 or 10 if anybody is interested today.
  21. Here's a candidate - remember her? Believe she may still be looking for a job. Lake Georgetown park worker fired following viral video of her screaming at driver | kvue.com
