mack_turtle
Not sure about that s particular situation, but I see a lot of unlocked bikes left on cars. Bike thieves suck, but I would never leave a bike in the back of a truck without a substantial lock on it because I know people suck.
ATXZJ
At least you never have to worry about your bike getting stolen.

Actually, I’ve had a bicycle stolen from me. Off my back porch. When I came home and realized it had happened I immediately printed out about 50 flyers with a photo of the bike and details of what happened, and then went and plastered them all around my community. Two days later I got a call from a business owner telling me that as he was going into his store he saw a young fella outside with my bike and that he had held onto it and had called the cops. The young fella took off. The store owner had recognized it from my posted flyer (he lived in the same area I lived in) and was just happy he could help me get it back. Community is a wonderful thing.

It was my Scott Racing Comp that I sold as a frame to someone in the Oakhill area back around ‘8-‘09 after I came to Austin. So this bike was less than 10 years old at the time of theft?
RidingAgain
It was a '92 or '93 frame I think, with a mixture of XTR and XT drive/brake components. The wheels were Mavic Cross-something with ceramic brake faces, XTR rear hub, White Industries front hub. Fork was a fairly new icon yellow Judy. Weighed in at around 23-24lbs if I remember correctly, for an xlrg frame. So yes, it was less than 10 years old at the time. But... https://stolen-bikes.co.uk/stolen-bikes/cannondale-prophet-1/ https://stolen-bikes.co.uk/stolen-bikes/cannondale-prophet-4/ http://community.vintagecannondale.com/threads/stolen-2007-cannondale-prophet-3-orangevale-ca-2013.100/ And even... http://community.vintagecannondale.com/threads/stolen-1988-cannondale-black-lightning-south-florida.94/ LOL...
