  1. Whenever I'm down about how beaten and broken my body is, I think of you and find solace. šŸ˜†

  3. We've been having good success for the past 2 years with the silly Amazon Shenkey on the helmet paired with a Lumina 1100 on the bar. But I've been jealous of everyone with Outbound lights. And damn it....with this Black Friday deal, I just had to go and buy the DH package for 2. The Shenkey will probably still get road duty, but I'm not yet sure what I'm going to do with the also baller Lumina 1100 lights.

  4. My lights crapped out two weeks ago. Then, last week, I discovered that plugging and unplugging them made them work again. That method gave out last night when I tried to flop them on, only to find no power, no matter what I did. This is the culprit: When I opened up the batter pack, I found that the LEDs were all broken as well (should be soldered onto the board: Last week's maintenance exercise was all about the torque wrench. Today I will be playing with the soldering iron. I hate those, especially with old man eyes.

  5. Oh gawd, that sounds terrible. That needle can be painful enough when done right, let alone with Dr Kervorkian driving.

  7. Got back from my PCP. Didn't seem too alarmed and recommended physical therapy. Luckily, my doctor and rehab is through Baylor Scott and White and is also located at the entrance to my neighborhood making the process pretty darn easy. Living in a pseudo retirement community, I have a lot of neighbors who go there, and they are really pleased with the results. Worst case they recommend I get a shot, so that was really encouraging. IMHO, this is something that's been around for a while (decades) and age has just finally caught up with me. Glad to have some options before it got too bad. Lastly, thanks going out to you guys for the encouragement and advice!

  8. I've used Dr Marks from DIAGNOSTIC PAIN CENTER for quite a few years now. My entire Lumbar disks are ruptured along with the facet joints. Marks uses a Fluoroscope to inject steroid into the disks, which can be very precise and repeatable. I also have my facet joint nerves burnt off occasionally. No pain meds, other than advil when needed. I can't recommend enough.

  9. 100%. My wife has had disk replacement and that worked for many years until the next set of vertebra started to collapse. They wanted to do more surgery but instead she got cortisone shot (took 2 tries) to relieve swelling and pain enough to allow physical therapy and that made a hell of a difference. Iā€™d say she is even more able and strong than before the pain. She worked with a pain management specialist rather than an orthopedic surgeon.
