The rules are really there for when people go over the line. Again, I want people to be able to post here in a friendly environment. I will tolerate plenty of rambunctiousness, but when you start attacking other users, insulting them, calling them names, and trolling threads, that's going over the line, and I'll step in at that point. On my other forum it's rare that we need to ban someone. Also, the one rule I will be more militant on is no discussion of politics and religion. I've tried that before and in nearly all cases it gets out of control in a hurry. And I don't really want to know all of your personal politics and religious beliefs. 😛 ..Al

There are forum guidelines, but they are buried in the "More" menu at the top of the page. They are similar to the guidelines on another forum I've been running for nearly 20 years. I will certainly make them more visible. https://austinmountainbiking.com/index.php?/guidelines/ Yes, I'm aware that Schrute was mimicking typical Bartman behavior that Bartman then responded to in kind. My post asking to not have that kind of crap here was directed at both of them. Bartman then chose to post this in response. ..Al

I appreciate the feedback, but I have to disagree. Many of Bartman's posts on MoJo contributed little to threads except for insults and attacks against other users. And he made it clear he was going to bring his sophomoric behavior here as well. I've spoken to various people over the years who did not participate on MoJo because of Bartman and other trolls on the site. I'd prefer this site to be more inviting, without people having to worry about whether someone is going to start posting garbage in their thread to derail it. There are plenty of ways to add "color" to your posts without demeaning others. I've had several positive messages from people already thanking me for not allowing Bartman to continue as he did (and does) on MoJo. ..Al

Yeah, I had someone outside Austin send me the video as well, so it's definitely making the rounds. ..Al -

Good bye! -
Yeah, we passed through Walnut on our Veggie Enchilada Buffet ride, and you could see the trails we passed still looked...swampy.

Keep this crap off this forum. ..Al -
LOL, that's pretty funny, yes, I was going back and forth across the road while climbing up at least half of Jester. ..Al

Yeah, the humidity today was pretty brutal. Even worse at the end of the ride when it stopped raining and the sun came back out. Glad we did the ride, though! I hadn't climbed any of those roads since the last Enchilada Buffet I did, which was years ago now. Too bad it's on a weekend I'll be out of town, which was also the case last year. 😞 Shane was repeatedly waiting for both of us!! ..Al

I'm certainly not going to go out there when it's wet!!

Haven't been out there in a bit, look forward to seeing them!

Driving to Portland in October - Trails to hit along the way?
Albert replied to Albert's topic in Mountain Biking Discussion
Thank you! I'll definitely look to see what Albuquerque has to offer, since I will be going right through it, and I often stop there overnight on the way there and back. ..Al -
Driving to Portland in October - Trails to hit along the way?

I agree with regards to Burro Pass. Last time I was there, I think mid-October or late September, and it was already freezing up at the pass. Late October seems pretty unlikely. And, anyway, there are plenty of other trails at Moab I've never ridden, and I'll get back to the The Whole Enchilada at a future date. 🙂 Thanks for your offer to loan me maps. I'm not planning to be back until October 27th, so that may not work out. Thanks also for the list of locations to consider! ..Al -
This is one of the crazier things I've seen with regards to mountain bikes..

Driving to Portland in October - Trails to hit along the way?

I'll definitely want to take a route that minimizes high mountain passes. All the times I've been through ABQ, I've never stopped to ride. I'm sure I'll be going through ABQ, probably in both directions. ..Al -
South Mountain Park, Phoenix: 15+ hrs from Austin

I added the line "Holbert:" on a new line after the "Second run down following him this time ( and a few sections and lines he didn't show) :" text, then hovered over the first video, clicked the "+" sign above the video (upper-left corner) and dragged that video above the "Holbert:" text. ..Al -

This is the route Google suggested: I usually go through Albuquerque when doing this drive.. So I obviously don't need to follow the above suggestion. -

That would not be ideal considering I'll be driving a rear-wheel drive cargo van.. ..Al -

That's interesting, I changed one of them from the short URL to the longer one and it suddenly worked. Could be a bug with the forum software. And the last one that wouldn't embed (the first video in your post) definitely has embedding disabled. -

Great, thanks! I imagine my plans will be partially dictated by the weather, so I'll need to be flexible. Having a variety of options I can choose from is a big help! -

Thumper's already hard enough without getting stabbed.
