  1. @Urb, thanks for joining and taking the time to post. Good to know about the dig/ride days, I'll definitely look into them!

It's not something I've played with yet. I'll probably make them more visible in the header at the top of the page, instead of having to fish for them in the drop-down menu. I look forward to seeing what people do with them. I know they will be popular on my other forum once I get it moved to this same software. ..Al
  3. Wow, next year? I thought they'd open after the race they are having next month. Interesting.
  4. Are they going to be open to the public on August 25th?
  5. I'm not sure I'll ever ride the black diamond stuff there if there are drops and jumps you can't avoid. I'm happy to roll stuff, but I've never really gotten into big air as I feel that's a direct path to injury. As fun as it looks.
  6. I just registered for three laps. Whether or not I make it beyond two remains to be seen. 😄
  7. I agree, I don't like the heart button either, I'm certainly going to change that one at a minimum. ..Al
  8. Once I'm happy with the way the forum is setup, I'm going to promote the forum to attract new members. I don't really want to see everything in one forum. I'd like the "Mountain Biking" forum to be primarily about mountain biking in terms of riding. If you're just looking for (or want to sell) a bike or parts, you can easily go to those forums to find them. Likewise, if you're looking for trail conditions, going to the Trail Conditions forum and looking for the trail you're interested in will be much easier than looking through a ton of posts in this forum. Same thing with Off Topic posts. As the site gets busier, I will have a heavier hand as far as trying to keep things organized. With this forum software, it's easy to setup custom "activity streams" that let you see new content in just the forums you want. https://austinmountainbiking.com/index.php?/discover/&do=create Under "Content Types", select "Topics", click the gear icon to the right, then you can select whatever forums you are interested in seeing new content for. You can then save this stream and call it whatever you'd like and invoke it again in the future in the Activity drop-down at the top of the page. And you can bookmark those streams in your browser. This forum is pretty simple in terms of organization compared to many forums. On my AtariAge site, there are over 120 different forums.. There are only 12 here, and I don't expect it to get much more complex than that. ..Al
  9. Here's a link to the registration: https://legacy.usacycling.org/myusac/index.php?pagename=registration&eventid=1939&year=2018
  10. Look forward to going out there once it opens!
  11. I have to strongly consider this! Never done two laps, much less three. I don't think two would be too bad, but three would be a doozy! At least it should be cooler in November, right? Maybe?
  12. Great! At least I know two people will be using it! 🙂
  13. I didn't have the permissions setup properly -- it was only visible to me. I've fixed that, so you should be able to see it now.
  14. Is that your Twitter account? Do you live near the trail?
  15. Well, that's a bit disconcerting. That could be pretty bad if it happened while you're cruising down the highway at 70mph.
  16. Man, that sucks. Seems really odd that it would break like that on its own. I have one of those racks as well. I wonder how heavy that piece is.
  17. I've installed a dark theme for the forum, for those who prefer that over a white or light background. You can select it at the bottom of the page by clicking the "Theme" link, which will result in a popup being displayed. Pick "Deflection - Dark" to try it out.
  18. I moved this into the "Site Feedback" forum.
  19. On another forum I run we have a "Free Games and Stuff" forum, where people can start a thread when they want to get rid of some items (usually for the cost of shipping, since it's not a "local" forum). When someone gets rid of the items, they can update the post that it's gone and it can be locked so it doesn't ride back up. Thread title will contain the name of the item (or type of items) being given away. There's a 'Marketplace' group here (with the "Bikes for Sale" and "Bike Components" forums), and we could do a similar thing here. I don't want to put every thread in "Mountain Biking". ..Al
