Thank you to everyone that responded on behalf of ARR as it was very eye opening how involved the club is. I had a misconception that the trail builders mostly did everything on their own without realizing how much community effort went into creating a name for ARR with local governments to help build trails. I was one of the guilty that enjoys brushy all the time, but was not a member of ARR....that has changed. Thank you for all you do!

This only highlights the portion after the hard rock creek crossing to the new section, the other direction west will remain, to my knlowdge, this just expands the section of peddlers east past before the existing exit.

Has anyone heard anymore details? I imagine it’s difficult dealing with lcra, but was hoping it was resolved.

We were on the brushy creek park side (with the splash pad) working east of peddlers east. We were being pretty loud with the weed eater and leaf blower, but maybe not loud enough. We then worked further east towards the parking lot entrance.

Somewhere buried in this thread, or possibly even the mojo thread, the trail steward (honey badger ) mentioned this was going to happen. I asked him at the trail work day this past Sunday about it and he pointed out the orange ribbons on peddlers east as part of that project. It was also mentioned that he would re-evaluate the trail after it’s done, but also expects the concrete to be lightly used and in an area with high visibility so if peddlers does cross bikers will be able to see anyone on the concrete. - Scott

Just walked up from the sports park to peddlers west and there is standing water in the roller section. With that being said, the soil didn’t look as soft as I expected so the trails may dry quickly. I’ll see what tomorrow brings.

I know it’s only been 1 day, but I wanted to bump to the top and see if anyone had any luck.

I went there on Sunday for my first time ever with some friends and it was rather wet. There wasn't much sticking to my tires, but almost every rock and root section was wet and slick. It was beyond my skill level for how slick it was, but my riding buddies only had problems on a few sections.

I figured that was the case, but I appreciate the confirmation.

Well up north I think we had close to an inch or more. How did the south fair? I feel as this question is almost rhetorical since I’m asking about dry trails in the area.

Thank you for the update. I'll stay hopeful the forecast is wrong for today and tomorrow.....or at the very least it skips over some of the trails.

Any Southies check this section and give updates? I've never been on the SATN, but I've been invited to potentially ride there this Saturday (depending on weather). I was going to check back tomorrow and see if anyone has a general trail report. I live way up north near Brushy Creek so any local reports are appreciated. Scott

I’m sure it’s no shock, but peddlers west has some standing water in some features. I only looked at the ones I could walk up to from the sports park. Sadly I do think there were riders that were actively riding. On a side note, good try to whoever put the trash can and logs up to block the entrance to peddlers east right at brushy creek park, guess some can’t take a hint.

Does anyone have a prediction on if Brushy will be dry enough to ride this weekend? I would venture to guess peddlers will need more drying time, but maybe 1/4 notch will be dry.

Wow, I’m not sure I could manage to get my front wheel up to the lowest point of where that guy’s rear wheel hits. Impressive.

I have unintentionally noticed landing with the back wheel does seem to help, even off curbs. I try and ramp off driveway edges and not let the front wheel dive just as proof of concept until I can find a more suitable height. Yes, this I have tried as well while riding with my son since riding them at a slower pace is harder. I try and ride as far as possible, but it also helps to know when to bail and hop off to the street. At some point I would like to ride the trails again just like everyone else, but I appreciate the suggestions from everyone thus far so I can be ready if it ever quits raining.

This is something I had not considered and will certainly give it a try. I have a mini tri-pod I'm going to use to film so I can see what I'm doing right or wrong. I really like this one and appreciate the suggestion.

I accidentally have to practice track stands while riding with my 4 year old and he randomally stops. I try as best as possible to track stand as long as needed and it’s made a big difference. For drops, those are harder to create without trail. Curbs are not challenging anymore and I haven’t found a suitable drop to practice off trail.

I should have made it more clear I was riding on the regional trail and rode the crushed granite right next to peddlers. 😀 I would love to ride the trail, but the cleanup would almost be worse than the damage I’d cause.

With all the rain we’ve been having, my rides have consisted of riding up and down the brushy creek regional trail on my hard tail which has become extremely boring. Today was slightly different as I started doing bunny hop drills and practicing looping out to get comfortable in a semi-controlled setting. I even went as far as to build one of those bunny hop drill contraptions I’ve seen on YouTube, but haven’t had a chance to use it yet. What other drills or skills would everyone suggest to practice that could be done in a field, parking lot or other open area while the trails are soaked? As a note, I would say I’m an intermediate rider that needs to develope the necessary skills to ride harder features.

It is super soaked right now, especially peddlers. I’m not defending the guilty, but I ride my mountain bike on the main trails and with all the rain my bike gets pretty dirty from the main trail. Of course, there’s no caked mud, just splatter. I did ride by peddlers today (Sunday) and I know a section was modified by honeybadger and firstblood Saturday and I was shocked to find no fresh ruts.....but I won’t hold my breath it won’t eventually happen.

I was out and peddlers east was good but west was not. Then the downpour started and followed me all the way home. I’m really glad I skipped out of work early on Thursday to get a ride in since this is now the 4th weekend in a row when the trails are too wet.
