  1. you know, now that I think of it, I have some non-boost axle caps (taken off some i9s when I installed the boost caps) for some i9 hubs. i wonder if they will work for those hubs you got from me. if they do they are yours free
  2. Lol this is the place I posted about on bike mojo a few years ago that wanted SEVEN DOLLARS PER FOOT for shifter cable housing. Im so surprised to see them go ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ’ฉ Buh bye ๐Ÿ‘‹
  3. I just hang a gallon jug on a rope from my handlebar. the weight is a little lopsided but the jug is always there!
  4. little bit of my work recently.. the digging never ends. will randomly update this thread with progress
  5. and the only reason why there is anything wrong with those bars is because they are carbon. if they were aluminum, they would be in 100% great shape in the condition those bars are in. so literally - what is the problem here? real answer: because carbon
  6. damn that really sucks. you need to get a G-savr https://www.amazon.com/G-SAVR-Lanyard-Tether-Leash-Computer/dp/B07CB1CR8K
  7. hey everyone, so to add to the uniqueness of the trail system im building, im looking for trail decor. cool things to strategically place around the trail system at turning points, trail heads, etc etc that will add further cosmetic character to the trails. some other trail systems you guys are familiar with have sprinkles of this kind of stuff here and there. let me know what you have if you think it would be a cool addition! examples - *lawn ornament statues - (lawn gnomes, random figures, etc etc) *anything that cooperates with the "cat" theme *maybe shinerider can make some bike-part-art to put somewhere! *animal skulls and/or antlers (deer, cow, etc) *wind chimes *funky/cool signage I dont want to spread junk all over the place. just add some cool stuff around the place. stuff people can use as visual markers. ya'll get it let me know of any ideas you have thanks! -Seth
  8. My 5yr old black lab named Mack has been the best trail dog ever ๐Ÿ™‚ riding and digging!
  9. really though? best bike trails you've ridden anywhere in the world?? don't get me wrong that place is fantastic. but not quite THAT good.
  10. well I got that story you wanted. ๐Ÿ™‚ long story short, I thought I was gonna be SOL because they no longer keep replacement parts for the older original (version 1) frames. and we/they weren't really entertaining upgrading me to the V2 frame for free because I wasnt the original owner. but at the same time, I'm an ambassador for them and they wanted to take care of me so we were discussing options. but about an hour after we talked, they let me to let me know that they found the last V1 Megatrail triangle in existence there and are hooking me up with it! but its orange! haha! gonna be rocking a half raw/half orange Megatrail. STOKED!
  11. really though? your hardtail instead? whyyyyyy?
  12. dude dont even worry about stupid online reviews if you like your bike. my intense recluse had a bunch of bad reviews online and I loved it! it was awesome. dont let someone else's opinion piss on your parade. if you have fun on your bike and feel like I rides well, keep crankin' on!
  13. and as a matter of fact, cat mtn was absolutely PRIMO all weekend long! the tops of some of the rocks were kinda slippery but the dirt couldn't have been better. was a truly epic weekend
  14. maaaaaaaan.... as a disclaimer - I dont blame GG build quality/integrity for this at all. firstly, this was a used 2016 frame when I got it, and since our day 1 together its been put through the wringer hardcore. numerous park trips, DH races, enduro races, whale tail over and over, blah blah blah... you get it. but we had the massive group ride on Saturday, all went well, then yesterday another smaller group from San Antonio came back to cat mtn and I gave them the tour also. we sessioned most of the big stuff for a while.. one of the newer trails on the perimeter trail side has a series of lumber jumps that field goal you though trees, and the 2nd jump on the trail is a 10' gap onto a flat Lilly pad landing. I hit the second jump and kinda pancake flop landed flat with a hard bottom out on the Lilly pad and heard my tire hit my frame. I was thinking I had tacoed my rim but I looked down and the chainstay had snapped. so im sure this was a mix of metal fatigue over the last few years, my abuse, and the bottom out. the end. I sent GG an email and am waiting for their reply, but am very optimistic about it.
  15. well if it makes you feel any better, this happened yesterday. but its still raining so clearly it wasnt enough
  16. Ok everyone! CAT MTN IS A GO TOMORROW MORNING! Dirt is amazing and should be 100% hero tomorrow morning. Cat DOs and cat donts- *helmets mandatory *knee pads recommended *best suited for enduro/AM/ trail bikes *dont bring youโ€™re DH bike, youโ€™ll be pushing it around majority of the day, and XC bike riders beware, your bike and skills will be tested here. *dropper posts strongly recommended. Very frequent and sudden grade changes *ride aggressive tires here *be prepared, eat well, hydrate, donโ€™t show up hung over. Cat mtn is a demanding trail system going both up and down. *dont bring beginners. This is a strong intermediate and above trail system. *ride within your limits what to expect - *raw and technical trails, narrow Singletrack, various amounts of exposure in areas, rock rollers, drops, jumps, lumber features, some steep sections. Its gonna be a great time and sounds like a pretty big turnout to be expected. Hope to see you guys there!
  17. well, my guerrilla gravity smash frame is getting delivered tomorrow, sooooooooooo........ yeaahhhhhhh. sorry! I am really hoping the rain holds out until Saturday though. I'm really looking forward to the cat mtn group ride
  18. awesome, make sure you sign a waiver on freeride512.com first! see you there. wheels down 9 am. PM me for address
  19. people of ALL skill levels are welcome!!!! ......... to come dig. lol ๐Ÿ˜› kidding! but seriously though, cat mountain is a place for experienced riders to challenge themselves and grow their skill sets. the climbs are pretty steep and sustained, the single track is narrow and often has varying degrees of exposure, lots of chunky rocky tech , off camber, plentiful *steep* sections, and a mix of drops and jumps, and a handful of expert/pro level features.. its really an awesome trail system that should be able to satisfy the desires of many different types of riders. but at the same time, cat mtn will catch you slippin' if you get comfortable and dont stay on your toes. plenty of opportunities to get in over your head if you arent careful or prepared. but with that being said I hope to see some of you guys there this Saturday and I hope the weather spares us!
  20. Hey there, thanks for the interest! but CBaron was correct, Cat mountain is not beginner friendly.
  21. ****UPDATE EVERYONE***** - RIDE WILL HAPPEN WEATHER PERMITTING. IF WE ARE GETTING RAINED ON SATURDAY, WE WILL POSTPONE. there are lots of rock surfaces and lumber features that will become very slippery if ridden wet. I want everyone to have an optimal experience at cat Mtn, so lets stay tuned to the weather and go from there. hopefully the weather holds out and we dont get rain Friday or Saturday..
  22. I'm always open to advice and suggestions to make my life easier building trail, and will give your method a shot sometime. however, I have an Echo PB-770 https://www.echo-usa.com/Products/Blowers/PB-770T and its one badass machine. 225+ mph wind and it blows 15lb rocks off the trail no problem. its better than 5+ men with rakes IMO. clears trail and blows everything out of cracks and crevices faster than you would believe. I borrowed it from a guy I know who owns a landscaping company and had to buy it from him after one day of using it.. one of the best trail building tools in my arsenal by far. I can't imagine any weed eater as powerful as this backpack dedicated blower, but I'm sure one may exist. but thanks for the tip I will totally try it!
  23. just general clean up of the trails... trimming back overgrowth, cutting fallen trees across the trail, and clearing the trails that are covered in loose rocks and fallen leaves. I'm heading out there today at 3:30 with my chainsaw and leaf blower to do some trail maintenance...the most overgrown trail ive seen is the creek trail that goes to where the dead deer was
  24.
