Well, after nearly 2.5 years, I finally caught the Rona. Started with bubble-gut and diarrhea the first or second day in telluride last week. No respiratory issues until Thursday night when I began experiencing a dry cough. Friday's ride on the high altitude xc trails was brutal, and had me completely gassed. Tested positive Monday with fever, cough, and fatigue as symptoms. Currently on paxlovid, with no fever and taking the week off . Blarf

Bronson v. Hightower v. SB130

This^ There are several companies now using their own iteration of vpp. The biggest issue with older variants of VPP was pedal kickback. The latest version from SC seems to have addressed some of this. Pedal kickback sucks in rocky places like CTX. -

Don't think you can go wrong with any of those bikes. If you're gonna pedal around CTX, I'd also consider one of these: https://www.revelbikes.com/our-bikes/rail29/ -

Thanks Did lunch there and it was really good👍 -
Holy shit boys, this place is pretty freaking sweet. They have a 5.8 mile Green Flow trail at the DH park that's probably one of the fastest/funnest low consequence experiences, I've ever had on a MTB. Think it drops around 1200ft Legs were BURNIN!

I'm a total fan of DB, it's hard to beat particularly for the money. Their Sisyphus is great too. Of all the tripels I've tasted both import and domestic, this one just checks all the boxes for me. Ill have to bring some back so our resident Belgian beer expert can weigh in. @Chief -

Made it to Telluride, and local brewery has the absolute best Belgian Tripel I've ever tasted. Their quad and blonde are really good too. -

Been using RF cinch since 2015 on multiple bikes with no issues. They have never come loose, made noise and setup easily with threaded or PF BB. Also nice to adjust chainline with the ring rather than crank. The aeffect R (?) is machined and lighter than regular one. The arms on standard aeffect are same length they just drill the pedal hole in different spot. Wouldn't buy a carbon RF crank though. Prefer sram carbon every time.

rank trails in order of heat stroke danger

We were the opposite. We lived a mile above sea level for a decade, the last two was spent mountain biking at 7-8k feet. Went for my first ride with a group at the greenbelt august 2013 thinking that'd id be a hero. I was far from and barely finished the ride. There is no preparing anyone for the nightmare humidity, 5mph speeds, switchback/ledge trails that are here. IMHO, it is one of the toughest places to stay motivated as a mountain biker. -

I ran into this when we lived in New Mexico. Over 300 days of sunshine made daily life a surreal kinda grind. I'd get up and make coffee , to look out to the same view every freaking day. It was like groundhog day in the desert. Changes in weather really helps to break up the monotony. -

Wouldn't be surprised to see some days in the 100s late September, with high 90s in October. We are out of tejas for a week in July, August and September for four separate trips. Two by plane, unfortunately. All of this travel is a much needed break from the heat until our house sells. Then summers like these will no longer be a factor. -

Wife has shown mercy on me, and booked a trip to Telluride MTB park next week. Guaranteed 20* drop in temps compared to here. https://tellurideskiresort.com/bike-park/
