Fwiw, I'd grab a sunrace 11-46 in the lighter model. Maybe MX? I forget which but it's in their catalog. Also looks like you spend a lot of time in the big cog (not judging, I have a 30t-50t) so it might be good to have 46t and 40t cogs on the cassette to spread the work around.
-
What cassette is that? Most of the wear seems to be on the big cog. Rest of the teeth look fine without much wear visible.Usually that kind of damage is from a manufacturing defect, drivetrain adjustment issue or poor technique.

That sucks about the break ins at slaughter. Surprising considering. BCG etc doesn't surprise me one bit with the walking dead roaming about.
-
Nice work. Gonna have to do this at my place

went in there a few times while eating lunch at tarka or fortune garden next door. store was well stocked, clean, friendly and empty. retail is dead

Congrats man!

What model crankset? You might have to play with spacing to get chainline where you want it with a single ring. Ovals are great for everything but high pivots.
-
Can confirm. Sealant only at the LBS and that's because i forgot to order online. My buddy is trying to buy the new "chainsaw" from Devinci and they required you to go through the LBS. Basically every dealer in the Salt Lake valley gave him the runaround and were unhelpful. Very frustrating for a guy wanting to buy a fairly pricey bike. Then Devinci recently announced Jenson will be an online retailer for them now. Problem solved. We just bought a house built in the mid 60s that is getting a bunch of reno work. I absolutely dread going to blowes or the despot to get my supplies. We're fortune enough to have a family owned, small hardware store within walking distance of my home. Problem is they're usually out of what you need, or want too much for it when they have it or have supplies that are less than harbor freight in quality. I gave them three chances and gave up. I buy anything and everything I can online to avoid the hellscape that is big box. There's a McCoy's here but it's a bit of a hump to get to.

Retail as a whole is dying. Most from their own hand. IMHO, large SQFT stores will all but disappear when the next recession hits.
-
That was the first one we looked at as it was light enough for my truck to pull it.

Looking good man! Also nice choice on the side entry toy hauler. We looked a few when we were in staying VA and they're totally the way to go!

IMHO, seems a bit of a waste to throw money at a revelation. Resale on Yari will be higher since it has more to offer buyers if you decide to sell. The +/- 300 grams difference between pike and yari is worth it for someone over 200lbs regardless of riding style. My trailbike currently has a pike 150mm and will be replaced with a lyrik. I can feel it moving around on me and I'm around 190lb fully kitted. To each his own though
-
To be fair, it doesn't seem like too bad of a trail system. Could be a nice break from the typical CTX monotony if it were closer. However, if someone was traveling from CTX, I'd find it hard to make the extra 1hr trip up when Palo Duro is right there. Also Angel Fire is only 4.5 hrs further much less ABQ, NM.
-
If it were me, I'd buy the fork and then use the serial number to get the correct shaft. There are a lot of options out there . You can also buy a used one and swap the seal/head . Pike fits too
-
Yari is basically a lyrik with a motion control damper. Same chassis. I've swapped all kinds of parts between RS forks to get the specs I want. That's the nice thing about them. Yari is somewhat overkill for CTX but not many more grams than pike. Good for a heavier rider. Charger dampers are cheap and easy to come by in the future. HTH

I assume its for a 29? https://planetcyclery.com/rockshox-yari-rc-suspension-fork-29-160-mm-15-x-110-mm-42-mm-offset-black-b3?gclid=CjwKCAjwxr2iBhBJEiwAdXECw1oIErkGz7BVmw1rNYpYWqlHNXNlHdZrEaeEg9zWGfn7Co92HjRwUBoCLuoQAvD_BwE Good chassis and can upgrade damper later.

no surprise there. exactly why i avoided that place, and just went a few clicks down the road to spider. Stoked that you had a good time and the flowers were out. that's always a nice bonus

Crystal ball says it sees a Revel Ranger in your future 😁 -
Switching efforts from exterior renovations back to the garage. Hoping to finally park my truck inside by mid week. Previous owner saw fit to put two giant parking blocks in the garage. Making it impossible to open the closet door more that 12-16". These were some heavy bastards to load by myself, by hand😐 Also, finally realized they have attempted to make the garage fully climate controlled. We shall see.....

They were serving that at Planet Marfa. They also have a local distillery there now too -

For you central TX boys, get your hands on this one if you can. Total game changer when it comes to sours.
