  1. I installed cushcore a few days ago. Got it from Jenson when they had the 20% off sale. So far I like how it feels. My bike doesn’t feel noticeably heavier or harder to pedal. I mainly wanted to try it out for the “performance” improvements it is supposed to have and it seems to deliver. Cornering feels a bit nicer and it feels like I have a bit more suspension travel on bigger drops. But I’ve only done one ride so far. Install wasn’t terrible considering it was my first time installing. My 2.4 width tire was definitely easier than my 2.5. Should get easier the more I do it.
  2. Does cushcore allow you to ride back to the trailhead on a flat?
  3. Those of you running low 20's and teens: How much do you weigh? Running cushcore or some variant? Doing lots of jumps/drops with those pressures? I tend to run 24 front/26 rear. I probably weigh closer to 180lbs with my gear and my bike is around 34 lbs. I want to get cushcore and try some lower pressures.
  4. This is interesting news. Looks like it goes right by suburban ninja as well. https://communityimpact.com/austin/cedar-park-leander/2019/11/07/cedar-park-hires-architect-to-design-brushy-creek-north-fork-trail/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_Community_Impact_Cedar_Park_/_Leander
  5. Makes sense. I guess I can just chance it and ride early weekday mornings while no one is there. I don’t have pegs or anything so nothing to damage the surface. Worst that can happen is someone tells me to leave.
  6. Anyone know the reason why bikes aren't allowed at the skate park? Most skate parks don't seem to ban bikes. Curious if it was always this way at Brushy Creek or was there an incident that caused this rule? I've rode around it on an early weekday morning when no one was around and it was a ton of fun. Now that I have a dirt jumper I'm more interested in riding skate parks as well.
  7. I road peddlers and picnic both ways on my new dirt jumper today. Coming from a full suspension bike, it was definitely interesting, but tons of fun. Was riding with my 9 year old so figured it would even out the gap a bit, but this bike is surprisingly capable. I was even able to maintain speed and pedal up all the climbs on picnic with little issue. Definitely will be my bike of choice when I ride with my kids. Also took it to the bmx park in cedar park and had a ton of fun practicing jumps and the wall ride. Dirt jumpers are such an awesome complement to a full suspension bike. And it really makes me appreciate how easy it is to ride with full suspension.
  8. I’ve been running 800 bars for like 3-4 months now. Not because I’m a wanna be downhill racer, but I figured I’d see how they feel and can always cut them down if it doesn’t feel right. So far they have been good and the bike feels more stable. But I might cut down to 780 at some point. That will probably be the sweet spot for me. I can rode through mulligan with 800’s fairly quickly, except for 1-2 spots where I need to actively maneuver the bars around a few trees.
  9. FYI I run maxxis DHR’s in the rear and I sliced my tire sidewall going down the larger mulligan drop as well. Some of those rocks are really sharp and bad luck will slice any tire.
  10. Wait what? I need to know where this is. 😮
  11. I noticed this today as well and was pretty upset. I loved hopping that one. 😑
  12. I rode mulligan, peddlers (west side of Parmer only), picnic, and snail trail about an hour ago. Everything is hero dirt. I didn’t come across a single muddy section.
  13. Yea I started with the base recommended settings and then started making 2 click adjustments of one setting at a time as I rode. But ended up at a point where it feels good enough and I just ride.
  14. I see FF helmets at Brushy once in awhile and aside from looking hot during the summertime, I don't think ill of them in any way. Nothing wrong with safety gear to protect yourself. Just because you don't crash or get hurt doesn't mean someone else doesn't either. It's the people who ride with no helmets that bug me. I saw a family riding picnic all without helmets. Mom, Dad, and what looked like their 6-7 year old daughter. None of them had a helmet. 🤦‍♂️
  15. Thanks! I rode down it. I thought about riding back up it, but the rocky slabs above seemed a bit too sketchy for me to climb.
  16. Also took my camera with me to Brushy this morning. (This will be my last photo spam of my bike for awhile)
  17. I guess "dusty" would be the more apt term here. 🙂
  18. Wanted to play around with my camera in the garage so I took a few photos of my dirty bike after riding Spider and Brushy this past weekend. 2018 Transition Scout NX that I've been slowly upgrading over time.
  19. Kind of a weird injury situation for me. Sprained my ankle really bad playing basketball a few weeks ago (went for a rebound and landed on my foot at an angle and lucky nothing broke). It still hurts a lot when I turn my ankle in any direction and put pressure on it at the same time. I have to go down stairs slowly and getting in and out of my car can be a chore at times. But I have absolutely no pain when I ride my bike. I've been riding 3 days after the injury happened, hitting jumps and all and as long as I have a nice pedal platform I'm good. Friends find it weird that I can go shred on my bike, but then have a limp when I walk.
  20. It was around 8:20-30am for me. Fire truck and paramedics were in the parking lot on the opposite side of the skate park near peddlers pass so I assumed it happened on that side.
  21. Dave’s Ditch was mostly dry today! At least the top part was. Rode it all for the first time and enjoyed the views and experience. Also saw paramedics taking away another rider on Peddler’s pass this morning. Hopefully nothing serious.
  22. Well just looked everywhere and no wrench for me. Maybe you need to be a paid member or something.
  23. Hmm. I’ll look for that. Thanks!
