  1. Anyone fishing for an easier way to tie a knot? https://tyepro.com
  2. Massive two thumbs up for introduction of multiple innovations in adjustable frame set-up. It's one thing to try and develop better suspension technology... But quite another to bring to the market a product that provides more rider experience versatility. Massive two thumbs up for local production. Immediately makes me feel carbon is safer. Massive two thumbs up what looks like overall design simplicity. Sometimes introducing innovations can make things get complicated, but GG has managed to both introduce innovations and keep things simple. And the price... If $3,800 can get you riding (not with top-of-the-line components obviously) a well thought-out carbon bike, that gives you multiple meaningful set-up options, I'd say it's definitely worth considering.

  5. This is about as minimal as a waistpack with water can get... Have one — new — for sale if interested.
  6. This looks like a good deal... https://austin.craigslist.org/bik/d/round-rock-2016-specialized-stumpjumper/6798311438.html
  7. I think Diamondback has a couple good choices, but the Atroz is a little behind the design curve from what I've read. This seems to be the one folks are looking at... https://www.marinbikes.com/bikes/family/2019-hawk-hill
  8. Very slick production quality... It's great to see these channels develop the way they have.
  9. Now about the bike... Shoot... Check the forums... It never went out of fashion. But then again... It's not a Barney bike.
  10. In Trinidad there's actually a phrase that describes what ATXZ is experiencing... Here it is... "Tobago Love... Said of a relationship characterized by lack of demonstration of affection, or by fighting." Isn't he cute.
  11. When I see these types of comments from ATXZ he reminds me of this song...
  12. 13. Just suggested an option. He's maybe 5' 10", and touching 200lbs. Just getting into the sport. It's good to have a compete view of what's available. Also, if he really wants a hardtail, $1,500 can get him a really nice... used... hardtail.
  14. Not a budget bike... But seems like a great pre-owned deal... The owner is asking $1,900 for a lightly used $6,500, 21lb Litespeed hardtail. https://sanantonio.craigslist.org/bik/d/san-antonio-litespeed-cohutta-29er/6791618383.html
  15. Met someone yesterday who has a budget of $1,500 to spend on an mtb. Has his eye on a new Specialized hardtail, but I told him that his budget may be able to get him a nice used FS instead. Anyone has one they want to sell... I'm thinking a large is what he needs. Thanks.
  16. Take photos and send in to the relevant authority.
  17. BUDGET PRICE!!! Nice... There are fine new FS rides out there for $2,200 to around $1,850. After that, go used. Last year I built up for someone a Giant Talon 4 27.5 that I bought used for $250 — with upgraded Rockshox fork. The frame was light, and with a 9x1 Shimano XT/Deore level drive and other components that I put on, the end product was a really nice mtb for the person I built it for. Will it hold up to 15' jumps... Probably not. But it wasn't designed to, and the new owner wasn't interested in riding anything more than flowy singletrack. Sold it with a Saris bike rack for $400, which was right in her budget. 18. If that were true, then the folks discussing putting up a sign on the trails would be stupid for doing so. But let's not derail this thread discussing what percentage of people are stupid... As what's being discussed here is a good continuation of the broader matter that was being discussed on another thread.
  19. Actually, the majority of people are not "... just f@cking stupid." But most people are certainly selfish... And that's where most problems in a community come out of. Understanding this... The need then is to try and make the matter one of personal concern for those trying to be reached. It's in this that the above billboard messages fail. Truth be told, it's where most advertising/marketing efforts fail. And a sign is akin to a billboard. And there are very specific design principles that should be applied to billboards/signs in order for them to be successful at what they are intened for.
  20. "...I don't always listen to RUSH, but when I do, so does the whole neighborhood..." Just too fricking good to not share the above copy. And here's the video it was written under...
  21. I remember the days that if you were really into mtb riding you learned to use clipless. End of story. And if you fell, you fell. End of story. Today it's like "Flats, clipless, flats, clipless..." before you even get on the bike. And then of course there's also "9-speed, 10-speed, 11-speed, 12-speed...", and of course there's "non-boost, boost... 2.35, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 3.0 tires... 26" (God forbid), 27.5, 27.5+", 29", Fattie... 740mm, 760mm, 780mm, 800mm bars... Carbon, aluminium... Single speed, 3/9, 3/10, 3/11, or 2/9, 2/10, 2/11... XC helmet, full face helmet... Pads or no pads... Shorts or tights... And on and on..." Oy vey.
  22. Just came across this little chainline info gem on the Face Face website... Found it useful.. https://www.raceface.com/media/Crank_Q-factors_and_chainlines.pdf This too... https://www.bikeradar.com/us/gear/article/complete-guide-to-bottom-brackets-36660/
