78745
Hi there everyone. I need my new hoops and hubs to be laced up. Anyone here have a good recommendation for a wheel builder around the ATX? Thanks all, Scott Edited January 16, 2020 by 78745
mack_turtle
Peddler in Cedar Park. I've built a ton of wheels in my living room with a cheap trying stand. It's not hard to learn.
Yeasty
Peddler in Cedar Park or Hyde Park. East side pedal pushers is a fine choice as well. Edited January 17, 2020 by Yeasty

AustinBike
I have had James Balentine build me wheels over the year and they are always the strongest and never go out of true. Not sure exactly how to get a hold of him these days, but he runs a velofix franchise here in Austin. https://www.velofix.com/locations/austin/ I'd ping them and see how to get James to build you some wheels. As an added benefit, they come to you, which is really worth a lot.

When we moved on and our customers would ask our opinion, we'd recommend James with confidence. I believe back then, at that time, he was with Jack & Adam's cycles. AustinBike
Yeah, Jack and Adam's, then lost touch. He surfaced again at City Limits cycle (mobile service) then bought into the VeloFix world.
Anita Handle
James is on Facebook so you can connect with him directly and he'll point you to the Velofix site. He personally came out to my house with his work van and redid my suspension bits but it is possible that you will get a different mechanic that was trained up and vetted by James. Ask him about it.
