Full Face for Texas Enduro Cup?

 I'll be racing at spider mtn, and reveille this fall which has me considering a full face. I raced the last enduro at flat creek with a normal trail helmet and felt that it was fine since the heat was a factor. I've rode spider a few times on dig days, so I have a good idea of what the terrain is like. Who else will be wearing or is considering a full face for those races?

I would do it. You don't need it till you do then....your brain is fucked or you're facing dental surgery.

I prefer too much gear to not enough. Glad I had this on last year when the asshat on the gixxer hit me.

i am signed up for spider mountian, and it will be my first enduro. i just ordered knee pads, and i'm 50/50 on the full face, sounds like its not needed, but i'm planning on going to angel fire at some point, so i might just buy one. i have the Fox Proframe on my radar.

Fox Proframe, TLD Stage, and Giro Disciple are the ones I'm looking at. The Fox and TLD are probably the finalist due to weight and breathability.

I’ve done a couple of the local enduro races. Heat is a factor, and most racers wear regular helmets. But enough wear a FF that you won’t look out of place if that’s your choice.  So whichever you are comfortable in.

I dont race these series, but I know myself in races. If you are actually going for the win, it creates some interesting situations as you go beyond your limits. You might as well wear the proper armor.  I would lean towards the proframe because it fits me, its badass,  breathable and Bells dont fit my head. Protect your kneecaps and elbows as well if you enjoy riding you bike.  Ive had a few high speed ejections from the bike in the last year. One was catastropic and no pads would have helped, the other one, elbow protection would have kept me racing all weekend.

I would just say get a giro switchblade helmet, or fox pro form, etc. these are "enduro" full face/convertible helmets which are a little lighter than full blown DH full face helmets. but still offer great protection..knees pads are an absolute must though

Definitely wearin knee pads. I ended up getting the TLD Stage, its branded as an enduro helmet that is DH certified. Only 690 grams

Definitely knee pads. I have RaceFace Digs, but I'm not loyal to them. I have a full face as well. Highly recommend the Kali Shiva, but I'm actually wearing my Smith Rover in the fall. More than anything, goggles. It gets super dusty and shades just won't do it.

We encourage all racers to wear fullys and knee pads at minimum.  Dakine and 7Protection are Trail Party sponsors, support the companies that support your trail builders.

For whatever reason, putting on the full face n goggles gets me in race mode.
