  1. Thanks all for the feedback. After looking at the really nice ready to go smart trainer bikes ($$$$) I decided to stay with my Hammer H2. I setup my old Giant OCR2 bike permanently on it, and got an extra seat, seat post, and extra collars as well as a QR seat clamp so that my wife and I only have to swap out seats at a pre-set height. I picked up a 32" smart TV (crazy how cheap they are) which allows casting from an android phone which is what my wife has. I use Trainerroad and I do it on my phone which is totally fine. I think we're getting the TV today so hopefully in a few days I can report back on how it works.

  8. I've really enjoyed reading the various opinions, speculation, wagers, etc on this thread. I really loved the Use Cases laid out by @notyal and the personal perspective shared by @El Gringo. A couple of years ago I was adamantly opposed to eMTB altogether, but I've grown to accept that there will ultimately be a place for them. The question now is where they will settle in and when. If we apply Gartner's hype cycle, we are likely near the Peak of Inflated Expectations. So it will be interesting to see how many players climb out of the Trough of Disillusionment. I saw that Haibike is focusing solely on eBikes now and leaving the non-eBikes to its sister company Ghost. Given some of the intricacies mentioned on this thread, maybe that is the best approach, i.e. carve out a niche and truly cater to it vs. dabbling in something that is significantly different from your core competency.
