  1. i think my "road trip kit" is like 30# between the toolbox and two plastic boxes of "trip savers" that include bike specific parts, likely failure parts, and some other stuff that's just better to have instead of needing to "get to the shop before closing" ... like when someone notices their brake pads are cooked after a day at Klondike or TWE run. Prefer to spend my trip money on food, drink, and friends vs overpriced repl parts and waste time. On the up side these parts serve as my back repl parts for when something wears out normally ... use it and order replacement immediately. Reminds me I need to order a repl BB for my bike since I just cycled one out.

  2. Rode a lap today to record wheel mileage. It is up to 11.7 miles with the newest stuff. I was expecting more. Now have figured out where the guesstimating went wrong. Uno: Forgot to subtract the length of a fence line section that is bypassed by Litterbox. B: I think the mileage provided for the machine-cut section might have been from the machine's odometer. which likely included all the fiddling around it drove while building trail. Essentially, this resulted in doubling the actual trail length. It is actually 1/4 mile long. Another section running across the field and around trees was added to it for a total of 0.5 mi. for both sections, rather than the mile that had been estimated. Still, very happy with the progress. Conditions are good. A few wet spots, but nothing sticking to the tires.

  3. Yep. Selling out/cashing out was one of the best financial decisions we ever made. @CBaron yeah, well...my body told me it was time. I still fight some back issues (going on 15 months now) but I can pretty much ride/run whenever I want and the f/s allows me to ride longer and more pain free than I would be otherwise. anyone not using a dropper at this point in time is just stubborn. Even roadies are starting to use them (and yes, I would LOVE one on my road bike).
