  1. Yeah, not what I pictured as "scooby snacks"...more like THC infused gummies, considering both Scooby's and Shaggie's reaction to 'em.
  2. Honky still doing any shows? Haven't seen them since last year.
  3. Can't wait to see that after it's first de-orbit and successful landing. That is going to have some interesting colors (if stainless steel header pipes are any indication of what steel and heat are going to do)
  4. Well, actually not what I meant, but I AM for less clothes, for me, when it's this freakin' hot. But meant less naked dude pictures.
  5. Would be pretty light-weight, and seriously better than the 'throwing stars' we made as kids from rear sprockets from bmx-type bikes.
  6. Just saw Sumo Cyco last week. Really like their style and sound. Sort of rock/metal/punk. Canada makes good music. Here's another Canadian band I'd found out about sometime near 2010, a "freak festival" downtown (newer song, though):
  7. What's funny, I was thinking about spears the other day, in regards to viability of use in home defense, vs a 10mm pistol, which then led me to start thinking about what kind of wood be best for mounting a forged spear tip, something like you'd see in medieval times, then I started desiring to make one. Oh, yeah, know I remember: was thinking specifically of that spear in the movie Dragonslayer. I seriously crushed on Caitlin Clarke. Also, just installed a Maxxis Minion DHR II 2.3 on rear wheel. Good so far. Will ride 1/4 Notch tomorrow and see how different it performs vs Hans Dampf
  8. I had been using a cheap LED light from amazon. Worked pretty well (maybe still does? Not used recently so not sure), but talk about complete fail: was riding lower log loop (the now swoopy, bermed section, just after the sharp left near start section) and light just went OUT. Instant pitch black...with resulting crash. Learned you could dislocate a rib that night.
  9. Fun fact, while you were watching that show, I was 3 years old and lived 35 miles from that place, in Sunnyvale.
  10. Thinking I'm going to order a couple REKONs. I am not fast, don't ride steep, sketchy stuff. Just need something that'll handle trails like Walnut, Peddlers, Deception, Barton Creek Greenbelt.
  11. You can still get them. Have a set of those on floor of garage. Decided to see about getting some Maxxis tires. Flatted again last night on 1/4 Notch. Schwalbe no good for rocks, apparently.
  12. Trail goes through those two? Curious what the actual distance is between them, at bar height. If bars are 760, looks like the trees might be just over 800, at most. Stuff a cloth tape measure in pocket and measure next time 🙂
  13. I still use the same set of shimano m535 pedals I bought in 1998. Beaten to crap but still work just fine. Cleats I have on there are probably 6 years old or so. I had bought a new set but after removing, scrubbing, cleaning and lubing, put the old cleats back on since I couldn't see much difference between them and the new ones.
  14. I went from about 710-720 to 800 with new bike. Really did not like that at all. Since I wanted carbon and original was aluminum, I bought a new carbon and had it cut to 760. Enormously easier to ride than the 800 but still took a little bit to get used to. Really like it at 760. I'd say give it at least half a dozen rides. It will take some learning to lean bike away from some trees, as well as not trying to go straight through.
  15. Bought my 2018 YT Jeffsy last year, based on price/specs, compared to others. REALLY would've like that Pivot 429 Trail, but the price was a bit off-putting. The YT was fairly comparable spec-wise at about $1000 less. I was able to sit on a local medium for sizing. Didn't really care about 'test ride' as ANYTHING would've been quite different than the 2005 575 it was to replace. Quite happy with it.
  16. I'm a few miles south of BC, and the several minutes of downpour that just hit should be over brushy soon, if it isn't already. Might be a bit wet if you plan to ride there.
  17. Unfortunately, If I were to follow that rule, I'd be sleeping until 2-3pm everyday. As it is, I need to do that Sat-Tues, but unwilling to do that Wed-Fri (MY weekend)...I'm sure I'd probably feel a bit better if I DID keep same sleep schedule on my days off, but that's just not going to happen.
  18. Finally made this. Dunno how, exactly. Just looked straight through trees as I approached the ledge, and rode right through. I think I keep getting hung up by looking at the ledge. Line perpendicular to ledge points at that tree on the left, so I always turn a bit that way, then end up riding right into it. This last time, I don't think I even looked at the stupid rocks and just rode through the tree gap. I should probably do that more often (not look at stupid rocks.) As far as 1/4 Notch goes, last obstacle I need to work on is up sponge bob. Smashed a testicle last time I tried, though. Not in a hurry to repeat that.
  19. I need to drink and sleep more, but sometimes a bit difficult.
  20. What combo? F/R? I ALMOST bought a MAXXIS at Peddlers, but walked out instead. This is first/only set of Schwalbe I've owned. Also the first time I've ever torn a tire. Internet says it's a bit common with Schwalbe. I was using Nevegal/Small Block 8 for several years (26"), but not at Brushy. New bike last year had E13 something or other, but I found those to be slow and squirmy (really large side knobs), so switched to HansDampf. Liked how they worked, but now know they are not as durable as they could be. What would you recommend for rear specific Maxxis?
  21. Did you use a tube patch, or as someone suggested above, a car radial tire patch? I swear had several small boxes of the rubber repair kits, but can't seem to find them.
  22. 29x2.35...I'm going to try John's suggestion, run some superglue into hole (sort of flap with hole at bottom) Ed, I did refill a bit of sealant, added about 15psi and let it sit overnight. Didn't hold air. When I got tire off, I did wipe it down, but there was a whole lot of gunk that needed peeling and some further drying out. I just got impatient, so threw a tube in there. I just remembered I have a set of an old set of panaracer rampage I can sub out, so might throw one of those on while I work on the HD. Also, not just Schwalbe tires are expensive. Stopped by Peddlers, looked at a couple Maxxis they had, they were more expensive than what I paid for these Hans Dampfs.
