  1. You can also use a toe clip strap to keep the tire place.
  2. It amazes me that we have made it this far as a species.
  3. I've have to use a Pedro's tire lever on every wheel I've installed on my Chinese carbon rims. There is absolutely no way I can get the tire on without it. I don't think it's a poor design of the tire or rim. Tubeless is awesome for its reliability but I think that manufacturers design tubeless rims and tires with tighter tolerances. When I use the tire lever to mount the tire I slide the lever hook side down under the tire bead catch the rim lip and pry it over. Never damaged a carbon rim yet. What rims are those? Considering the damage is on the inner wall of the rim I wound't be too concerned like @teamsloan mentioned I'd gorilla tape it and go about my day. Those rims are going to see a lot worse than a tire lever here in Centex.
  4. Getting it pretty good here in Cedar Park. Quick everyone go buy a fat bike!
  5. For me it's more about composition. The music needs to have some complexity to it to get my interest. Not to say that I don't like simpler stuff but music that is complex is my go to. Big Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin fan from a kid. There are quite a few metal bands that are musically complex Lamb Of God, Between The Buried And Me, Mastadon. Unfortunately once they go to that guttural screaming I lose interest quickly. Was never into the Hair band stuff a bit too corny and better musicians had already done that schtick David Bowie being one of the first. Huge Tool fan along with APC and Puscifer. There really aren't many bands making good progressive music anymore. Conceptual albums are a thing of the past thanks to streaming media services, people just buy the one song they like instead of an entire album. I also enjoy good guitarists of course Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and my all time favorite David Gilmour.
  6. Yep. It's between Rays Collarbone and Satellite.
  7. Jammer. Just before Satellite going E-W.
  8. That was funny. Here's another good one.
  9. When I lived on Long Island we had a guy that had a military collection/museum out on the east end. You were able to buy tickets to check out everything he had which was a lot. Some schmuck moved in next door to the museum and started complaining to the town about the tank museum and eventually forced the guy to move. The collection is now part of AAF Tank museum in VA. https://www.aaftankmuseum.com/about https://www.nytimes.com/1995/12/03/nyregion/long-island-journal-079626.html
  10. I've had this album on rotation. Really good. This song sounds a bit like if you crossed Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
  11. The wooden features on Tarantula at Spider mountain are a good way to get used to wooden features. You can carry enough speed to easily roll through most of them. Skinnies are a different story though.
  12. I agree. I've gotten a bit bored with a bunch of work for too little reward that 1/4 and DD come with, not to mention the potential for injury. SN is fun because you can maintain speed easier than on the other local trails around here. Don't get me wrong I still like to ride 1/4 and DD just not as much as I used to. Is Gandolf the line on the ridge near Katy lane?
  13. Most of my worst crashes have been at timid speed (slow). Carrying momentum through sections of trail that intimidate you is usually the better choice.
  14. I don't know if it was Firstblood but I do remember someone on Mojo saying they went off the side of the rock roll and wound up in the creek. No real injuries. Someone also went off the edge at the beginning of Mulligan.
  15. That sucks. He had health issues for years.
  16. Bobby ran into some dependency issues. Not sure what happened to him. I know Nelo was trying to help him but I don't think it worked out that great. Nelo still wrenches, he went mobile. His website is still up for the mobile business. Brendan Sharpe who was at Nelo's was a good wrench too.
  17. Dave did a bike fit for me too. He helped me finally get my saddle position right.
  18. For me there comes a point where the gearing gets too low and you just spin like crazy not really covering any distance. I'd prefer a slightly harder gear that helps me cover more distance faster. On road I always turned a bigger gear than most people. I very rarely came off the big ring even a stop light I'd start off in the big ring.
