  1. We planted this little peach tree last year. She already started showing some flowers the last couple days. We’re trying some Christmas lights under a frost blanket to keep her warm.
  2. It's the camera angle plus the fact that we see these guys do amazing shit everyday. Watching Danny ride a mountain bike slowly down a mountain doesn't carry the same eye candy wow factor as the flips, whips, hucks, and crazy balancing acts in all his other videos. Then you realize just how steep that slab is, and WOW!
  3. When you say it keeps sagging, does that mean it slips down when you are sitting on it or that it doesn't fully return? I used to have a KS eten (non-serviceable cartridge) that would not fully return so I had to reach down and pull it up the last inch or so manually. Each time it started doing that, I just gave it the basic service at home for $0 (well, plus the generous amount of Slick Honey), and it worked as good as new for several months until the next service. The basic service is basically taking it apart, wiping clean, and reassembling with ample amounts of Slick Honey. It's not hard to do. If it slips when you are sitting on it on the other hand, it is probably beyond just needing a good cleaning. In the words of the late great Eazy E, throw it in the gutter and go buy another.
  4. I'm just jealous. My wife said, "I don't mind camping when we go to Big Bend, but at minimum, I want a private bathroom." To which I said, "That's called an AirBnB." She replied, "Ok, but I don't need a super nice AirBnB."
  5. So, where do we draw the line between "glamping" and "camping"? Poop in hole = camping Poop in bucket = glamping Agreed?
  6. It looks like a POS, but also has a solar powered fridge/freezer, generator, and shower. I have a soft spot for things that are ugly but functional. Oh, and it comes with an airtight poop bucket!!

  8. This is me, too. I'm more interested in miles, vertical feet, and total number of rides than my best time on a given segment. I do like seeing when I get some trophies at the end of the ride, but I rarely drill into them or even care which ones they are. In the context of this thread, it is fun sometimes to look at some of my best times on frequently ridden segments and try to figure out which bike i was riding at the time.
  9. I've been running 3.0 tires for a few years now. They are slower going from 0 up to speed. However, they are also slower going from speed to 0. Since, the later sometimes results in landing on my face, I'll take that tradeoff.
  10. Usually I'm the one with questionable color choices. Sweet bike otherwise.
  11. If you're lucky, sometimes the soft cushioning inside is still warm.
  12. Crazy how droppers used to have the reputation of being super unreliable. Now we've got lifetime warranties.
  13. Might have been the glove box, not the radio. I was a mere twinkle in my father's eye when he was terrorizing the streets of Austin with a firework armed VW Bug.
  14. My dad used to always tell me a story about when he was in high school and they rigged his buddy's VW Bug to shoot bottle rockets out of the front. Since the motor was in the back, it was as simple as pulling the radio and running a pipe through the front hood.
  15. Silicone grips like ESI just feel different. They add cushion and dampen vibrations. Plus, if you are a gram counter, you can beat the weight. I was having some hand problems when I tried them first. Can't say they fixed the hand issues completely, but I found I just loved the feel. I tried to go back to the lockons that came on a bike. That only lasted one ride.
  16. I love ESI's, but I've been using a set of Red Monkey Klampz for a while now and have been pretty happy with them. The feel of silicone with the ease (and weight) of a lock-on. Also, they are probably the girth of an ESI extra chunky with the cush of a racers edge. I kind of like it, but that combination could be a turn off to some looking for the extra cushion. https://www.redmonkeysports.com/collections/klampz-lock-ons
  17. PBR Extra sounds like a mix between hipster and homeless. That said, I will buy some soon.
  18. Step 3. Seared off in a hot cast iron skillet with herbed butter and shallots. Let rest and slice. Serve with a horseradish cream sauce.
  19. Step 2. Roasted at 225*F until the center is 125*F.
  20. Reverse seared tenderloin. Step 1. Heavy salt pepper and overnight uncovered in the fridge.
