  1. Nukeproof Mega 290, was just bitching about the chipped fork. Haven’t put it together just yet.
  2. Exactly, the gods should be fulfilled with my sacrifice.
  3. Yep, I would expect a huge discount if a new bike had chips in it like this. Will see what they say, I know it's not a huge deal, but just paid for a new bike and feel bummed when I should be ecstatic . But here is something that can pop up with consumer direct bikes.
  4. So it is a brand new bike, bought it from Wiggle.com. So far they have been great on customer service, will see what they say, thanks for the advice!
  5. I know it should be fine but the chips scare me a little, i should be the one doing the damage. Heres some closeup pics. These show the actual chip. I guess i am being too sensitive? I am triggered and need a safe place.
  6. So I just got my new bike last night, looks beautiful but the box had a hole in it from shipping. Fork dropout had some scratches and rebound protector knob thingy was scratched as well. Gonna look to resolve this but need y’alls expert opinion. There is chip taken out on the dropout. Don’t think this will affect the structural integrity but not sure? Should i request a new knob protector thingy and money or a whole new fork? The rest of the bike looks amazing but this is a bummer.
  7. Brutal, sending healing vibes his way, that foot off and helmet peeling off picture is making me squeamish.
  8. Extra step if you haven't tried is to adjust the lever reach and free stroke before you start. Have heard every which way, to have the lever reach and free stroke fully open, or to have the lever reach fully open and the free stroke closed and the opposite of that. The best bleed I have gotten is to have the lever reach all the way to the bars (closed) and free stroke all the way open, but who knows. Seems like you can have extra air in those spots.
  9. Just checked with them and they are OPEN on Monday!!!!!
  10. Anyone know if RPR will be open on Monday the 21st?
  11. Love the shimano DX 647, easy to clip in with the spring loaded cleat and can ride unclipped with the bigger platform!
  12. I prefer clipless but have found flats make me a much better clipless rider. Requires you to use proper techniques for things like climbing and bunny hops. I also like having the flat pedal shoes for hike a bikes. When I go back to clipless it is a small learning curve, but find bike control is so much better.
  13. Found this video pretty helpful as it's different than the usual sit on your bike sag setup
  14. This is all good info! I am gonna get a proper workstand now that I have the piece of mind. Video was helpful. Have a steel frame with skinnier tubes so kind of a pain to clamp, but going to take their/your advice and clean the clamps and then just freaking clamp on the dropper stanchions. I have an external dropper so no other choice.
  15. Great conditions today, few wet spots especially on Mark’s Art but otherwise aweome.
  16. I like to open up one small side of the tire every 6 months, maybe more often in the summer and check for stans boogers that can build up, discard those and add sealant. Kind of fun to see what little creatures the stans creates.
  17. Got in a long ride today, great conditions, couple of wet spots on wookie way but otherwise perfect conditions and tacky dirt!
  18. Just ordered some Whistler Performance Lubricants Forkboost lube for this purpose
  19. This stinks because their branded stuff was cheap but I never really loved this place, went in to get standard stuff like SPD cleats and shimano brake pads and they did not have them, was forced to either go to another shop that had basic things or go online.
  20. Did not mean to derail the thread, just got so excited about Korea reference. Can't wait to get to Bentonville! Thanks to Seth's Bike Hacks latest videos I have convinced the wife to go there. Was an awesome promotional video he did. Also curious about the weather this time of year and further into the winter? Still rideable in the winter?
  21. I can't even imagine how different it is now compared to then, you need to make it back, really great MTB scene!
  22. Surisan was my local mountain, just a couple subway stops away! Ran from security a few times after muddy runs at Surisan with a bike a little too dirty for a busy subway car. There was a guy at the top of what we called the bobsled trail that sold soju and foraged veggies and berries. Amazing times, need to get back, but Bentonville is way closer! I am sold.
  23. Oh how this makes me miss riding in South Korea, mountains everywhere and easy access with the subway system going most places!
  24. Okay it seems like it's fine as long as you mind the stanchions, don't tighten down on them too hard and use a clean rag. I think it's the rockshox reverb that failed so many times that's got me so worried.
