  1. Apparently the thing to do if you’re name is Seth… move to NC, get a house on some land with a 4 car garage, ride bikes. Next thing you know you’ll be trail building around your house and there won’t be a single car parked in your 4 car garage. I’ll be waiting for the build videos. You get a bike industry job? 2. My understanding with the hydra free hub is only one pawl is engaged at a time at first and as the torque is applied all six pawls engage. This reduces drag while coasting, but is stronger than their torch freehub when fully engaged. I haven’t seen many reports of them failing, but I’m sure like any other design their are some cases. I’ve heard from a few people in this forum (or mojo) that had their CK and DT hubs fail on them. Nothing’s perfect. I don’t know anything about the Sprague clutch longevity. 3. Yeah, they come mixed with the grease/oil combo. But they also say if you like them louder that you can switch to oil on the pawls. But you likely need to maintain them more often. *edit - just noticed you posted i9’s description of what I just said. :P Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The 6:20 steam train of pain is no longer in service. All passengers have been re-ticketed for the 5:30 departure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I was just going to say to contact i9. Those guys are great. * I need to go take a look at mine now though. [emoji51] Also, trying to decide if I want to get oil or grease for the freehub. That loud hub sometimes works better than my bike bell. I might get both and experiment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I just wish they offered something without their logo blazed all over it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hmm...I just realized I always swing my leg around over the back wheel and saddle to get on. I've never scuffed my foot on the TT like that. Never really thought about that before.
  8. One other area to wrap that I wouldn't have thought of before, but I'm glad I have it...a strip along the top tube. It doesn't get hit by rocks, but I sit on it a lot and I have my tube and battery (in the winter) strapped to it. That section has probably seen more abuse than all the others.
  9. I wanted to do the full wrap, but I got impatient and built my bike up before I could get the kit. Once the bike is built it's SIGNIFICANTLY harder to wrap the bike not just because of the parts in the way, but because it'll never again be as clean as it was fresh out of the box. I ended up protecting specific areas with a matte tape from Miles Wide. The tape adds a subtle satin finish instead of it being a true matte like my frame, but it's not too garish. Their gloss finish tape I imagine would look invisible on a glossy frame. The tape works well with a heat gun or blow dryer. I did the down tube, bb, and some areas in the suspension linkage that get a lot of spray from the rear wheel. I should have done some strips along the stays, and I 'll be adding that soon.
  10. I’m in. But I’m pretty much always there. I’ll try and bring some GDMFs Late lap again for me. Rolling out at 6:20ish Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah, the ibis linkage doesn’t use as much grease as the VPP linkages. I had the zerk fittings on my BlurLT. Thought they were cool at first, but they never really worked right. Just wasted grease. Even if the Ripmo’s bushings went bad, they have a lifetime replacement from ibis, similar to SC’s bearing replacement. I’ve torn down my Ripmo’s rear end and was very happy with how things looked as well. Not the easiest bolts to get to on that upper link, but oh well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I count 3 married couples in the group too, so they’re allowed to sit close. Great seeing everyone last night! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Why can’t we (meaning the city) just all agree that certain areas should be preserved as undeveloped land, and left open to the public as wild space? It doesn’t even have to be publicized as public land. It just stays known as “that empty hillside I drive by on 360” by most people. Certify it as wilderness or something. If I was one their “neighbors” I would be feeling like I’m loosing a huge section of my backyard even if I wasn’t a biker. What a waste. Guided tours…like we’re 4 year olds. 14. That silver 429 is a beautiful frame. Should be a fun demo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. No biking within the park except for on paved roads. You can even rent cruiser bikes I think. But absolutely no trail riding. But…you will not be far from Flagstaff AZ and it has great trails. Like, descending 2000’ through pine forest and coasting for miles. And…if you’re riding in Flag, you may as well drop down an hour drive to Sedona where you might decide to never leave due to the riding there. Took the family to GC, Flag, Sedona, and Monument Valley three years ago and we all can’t wait to do a return trip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Where did you find this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. At least with HOL repeats I’m satisfied with my performance level! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I mean, I’m not on any race team or anything, but I was pretty sure I was correct. :P …I have done HOL repeats in the past. The hikers give you plenty of patronizing feel-good comments on the way up. Strangely, not as many comments on the way down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. It was my understanding that “Enduro” is basically a down hill race that requires the participants to ride their bikes back up to the next downhill stage. The climbs are not timed, but can be expected to be quite strenuous since you just sent it all the way down the hill/mountain you are having climb. ...otherwise known as a mountain bike ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Yup, got that in the fridge right now, pretty good. Might need to get some DB next for a back to back comparison. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Combine them and make it an enduro race! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Every time I‘ve ever been down HOL there was a DH race happening...just seems like no one else ever knows about it. [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. ^this. This is all that really matters. You could get her a blinged out Trailcraft, but if it doesn’t increase the stoke then what’s the point? The teal/ purple/ oil slick ano combo makes for a pretty sick looking bike IMHO. [emoji1591] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Totally, because I thought my son's was the best 24" bike I've ever seen. Now there's some serious competition 😛
