  1. Alright, now that I am back at a laptop and not posting from my phone. I can thank the folks that helped make it happen. TheX, Shinerider, Jon Kubala, and a few not on here. The tires continue to be a PITA to keep tubeless, but they seem to be holding now. I cannot get a bead lock to hold once the air comes out of them. So spare tubes will be a must for trail changes. Only saving grace is my giant compressor at home (my 100psi pancake won't do it). I took Cody's advice and flipped the stem and swapped the spacers, so the fit is better now. Still working out the fork. I don't think I can let enough air out of it to sag correctly and still have it function. But once we hit some real trails we can get a better idea. I do need to pull the BB and move the spacers to get a better chainline. Right now the 40T feels like too much cross, so going to 2 spacers on the ND side should help that. Rotors came from my junk box, so need to true them both. But he loves it. Rides it all over the hood. I am anxious to get him on a trail, but suspect this week is a no go. I suspect Peddlers will be out for awhile, same with WC. Anything in SATN ridable this week?

  2. That’s actually not great advice. Most states have reciprocity agreements when it comes to registered firearms and a License to Carry permit. You have to go a fair way from Texas before you hit a state which doesn’t have such an agreement. I travel with a firearm, am highly trained in its usage, and generally feel comfortable having it with me - especially when camping in remote locations! So caveat - don’t just buy a gun and travel with it. Either become trained with it, or stick to your can of bear spray.

  3. Yup, you need to be very aware which states are reciprocal. CA and NY are way out of my driving range, so I'm not really concerned. I do know some RVers who have elaborately concealed handgun lockers just in case they are traveling through the 'red' states on the map. I also know some people who 'collect' concealed carry permits, such as NY and CA - although technically, you really should remain a resident for them to be valid. For my purposes, I'm in good in the state of Texas, all the states which touch Texas, as well as Colorado, Kansas and Arizona - all of which I have driven to.

  5. @TAF many states I'm sure, but not all.. I certainly suggest you steer clear of NY in particular. I mean, not only for this reason, but definitely for this reason.

  6. ^this. This is all that really matters. You could get her a blinged out Trailcraft, but if it doesn’t increase the stoke then what’s the point? The teal/ purple/ oil slick ano combo makes for a pretty sick looking bike IMHO. [emoji1591] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Sorry for the tease, my daughter and I built what we could today after dealing with yard pickup from the storm. I feel a little regret after seeing some of these quality builds. My choice to not touch the fork/wheels is going to bug me. 😂 To do: shifter cable, chain, ergo adjust, grips and bar trimming.

  9. We had an eventful glamping trip and didn’t even have to go anywhere. We’re happy to finally have water again.

  10. Where does she think you guys are going to camp where having a gun handy would make her feel better? The gun isn’t worth much without training. In fact, I’d say without the training the gun is a liability. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Major concerns. Specifically look at the convoluted laws for each state through which you plan to travel. Seriously don't travel through some states with a hand gun not registered in that state. In several states you're better off with an ounce of good than you are a handgun.

  12. I find these conveniently left all over the trail as well, but I never bother to pick up a pair. people must get cold feet easily because I find them out there year-round.
