  1. Well from what I hear wives are for sure more difficult and challenging. Lol
  2. How was everyone’s afternoon? My bro Alan, my dog 🐶 mack, and myself had a relaxing 5 hours ⛏😛
  3. nope not how it works at all actually. apples to oranges here. the apple being this fine piece of private property with a land owner and patrons who respect the work of the trail builder, and don't seem to mind challenging themselves, or walking what they dont feel comfortable, or just avoiding the gnarly trails they dont prefer altogether. the orange being your examples of public property and patrons (yourself) who seems to feel entitled to have the trails built around your needs, and skill level. all at the expense of someone else's labor, or just disrespecting other's hard work and changing it as you see fit whenever you please. I also ask what he would like, and try to add trails for him to enjoy as well with everyone else. but the terrain there determines the characteristics of the trail before I get to decide.. Walnut Creek type smooth flow trails will never show up there because the terrain says otherwise. I work with the land, not against it. a common misconception about cat Mtn is that its nothing but a bunch of crazy whale tails and nitro circus type shit everywhere. which isn't true at all. the overall trail system is definitely advanced and not for beginners, but there's trails there that can be enjoyed by a good variety of people.
  4. I think every b-line should have an additional B line (maybe call it a C line) and then that C line have a D line, and just to make sure that EVERYONE is able to ride the trail and NOBODY EVER has to walk their bike.. and then maybe even put a little miniature concrete path next to the D line just in case the D line is still too challenging for whatever individual didnt want to get off their bike won't ever have to worry about doing so.
  5. I also have hardly EVER seen any snakes in all these years of riding and trail building. A suprisingly low number. Especially with all the trail building I expected to run into some. But the few I have encountered have always been non-venomous. i personally like snakes though. I have an 8ft carpet python 🐍 at home. Her name is Sheila. She is ultra tame and super nice. Has been a great pet. This first picture is from like 4 years ago. She’s probably doubled in size since that picture 06580C63-D6D6-4B88-AE41-BA8C81F10E7B.MOV
  6. Was just something that made me laugh. Wasn’t trying to be negative
  7. seems like those boards with a single motorized wheel also made it into the article with the single pivot bikes. quite the coincidence there 🙄
  8. the trail system is on private property - is intended for FR512 members, or invite only. and you would earn my utmost respect if you can ride a one wheel there and not die. not even kidding or being sarcastic. if youre seriously interested I can have you sign a liability waiver and go out there with you with my GoPro and record your glory. and just to be clear I dont hate e-bikes or one wheels or other motorized vehicles, nor the people that use them. I just think they have their place, and got annoyed reading the back and forth debate in this thread with people interpreting the written rules to their benefit.
  9. unsurprising mentality..... yes, please, go to the greenbelt, sacrifice your fun and walk while carrying your one wheel everywhere because the trail is too rough, all while telling yourself its a victory in the face of that stupid guy named Seth online. lmao oh please, I dont know how else to day this without sounding totally full of myself but dont talk to me about caring about the mountain biking community. ive done more for the Austin Texas mountain biking scene than you (and many others) probably ever will. im not trying to toot my own horn but seriously? I eat breath and shit mountain biking, have lived here my whole life, and have been a very dedicated contributor to the scene around here. I literally have spent the last 3 1/2 years adding an entire trail system to Austin, am very welcoming to new riders, host group rides, promote events, help run a mountain biking club, have worked with big names and companies from the mountain biking world to get exposure to our scene, etc etc. so little remarks like that piss me off pretty good. youre a nice guy and everything but dont sit behind your keyboard as you often do flooding this forum board with nonsense and make remarks like that to people like me who actually invest great amounts of their time and efforts.. maybe I am caring for the greater mtb scene by not promoting opening the flood gates to all these motorized contraptions on mountain bike trails that already have their challenges.
  10. haha that was entertaining to read. easy to picture the skit in my head with the two groups. haha. well said. I'm rolling my eyes at you. that goofy little contraption you have is a motorized transportation device, get over yourself. its neat and everything, but get real. im trying to take you seriously here. and frankly, I could care less about those things being at walnut creek or whatever since I never go there.... just stay away from places like the greenbelt.
  11. Me too I like it mainly because it resembles a big ass or pair of boobs
  12. I don’t know what “just and ass” means but sometimes a donkey is referred to as a jackass, yes. So I’d say no jackasses with motors are allowed either. Which some of these users may probably already fall under that category
  13. "no motorized vehicles" - aka it doesnt matter how many wheels it has, if you stand or sit on it, or if it balances itself, or if its a donkey with a motor retrofitted up its ass. if its not a Segway, or an ADA appliance, then whatever transportation device that possesses a motor used for propulsion IS NOT ALLOWED on the trails. are you guys just bored and want to debate some shit? its pretty black and white
  14. maybe scooters, motorcycles, and one wheels are all in the same circle because they are ......... motorized.....? why is this so hard to understand everyone? its simply about having a motor, or being self propelled by human power and human power alone. replace the term "skill" with "motorized or not" and it all makes sense. AB's responses are logical and factual. why is everyone making this so complicated?
  15. buy used. so much more bang for your buck that way. and odds are the used bike you're buying hasn't been ridden to hell and back and you're probably getting a bike in good shape. .......and then sometimes you unknowingly buy a bike from a guy like me. haha
  16. I'll take the pedals - Shimano PD-M647 pedals. I'll DM you
  17. haha heyyyy, hey! don't let me give you the wrong idea I have a pretty damn impressive accumulation of spare stuff that serves me and my buddies pretty often. I have tons of stuff. but when im asking on this forum for something, im usually either in a time pinch or is something oddball-ish that I haven't already been able to locate elsewhere. ive had good success with this method though!
  18. hold on let me pull up a chair to sit down for this drivetrain maintenance lesson I dont know shit about. with the exception of using a buddies bike specific lube, or the rare event of me having my own bottle of bike specific lube however I ended up with it , I've been a 3-in-1 oil guy for my chain since my newbie days. probably a mix of convenience and me being cheap about certain things. lol
  19. Haha. I constantly ride in a tailspin. Took some getting used to but I got it down
  20. I meant to address the rear wheel specifically but I forgot to.. I have always used (on numerous bikes) the single-sided 6mm spacer that would not effect the intended chainline of said frame. but to answer your question - yes, if you did use 3mm spacers on each side of the rear wheel, it would change your chainline by 3mm
  21. ^THIS sorry to hear that you crashed man but its rider responsibility to ride/inspect trails that are not yours and you didnt build as if they are always subject to change. because they are
  22. Got a new stans flow EX3 27.5 laced up to a Chris king hub for my pivot DH bike. I’m excited! Will update as time tells with pro season right around the corner
  23. I can vouch for both front and rear boost adapter kits (I actually recommended this to austinbike) that they work fantastic. as long as you arent loosing the spacer(s) you'll never really be able to tell the difference, apart from having to re-dish the rear wheel (if you get the one-sided 6mm spacer for the 142 to 148mm conversion).
