  1. I even like them on my little clown wheels and they're 2.4s, so I'd imagine that a nice wide 29'er version would be great!
  2. Great front tire, but you have to be comfortable leaning the bike over.
  3. First post and it has the potential to become the go to tire thread on this site. Congratulations! :) Since I’m still rolling 26”, most tires available to me now are super knobby unless I pay list price ($$). I used to ride Ikons though and loved them. I’ve found that for around here, high volume (wide) with small, closer spaced knobs tend to work really well. Whatever you do though, get an armored sidewall like Maxxis’ EXO protective layer. 4. What if all the scooters mysteriously were found relocated underneath the pedestrian bridge? I'll be happy to call 311 every time I have an encounter with these things.
  5. I've loved my camelbaks, but we got an Osprey school backpack for my 6 years old (awesome deal at REI) and their customer service is awesome. We needed a replacement buckle for the pack and it was shipped to us quickly and easily. Despite needing a replacement part, their stuff is very well made. If their hydration packs and backpacking backpacks are constructed anywhere as good as their basic school pack, then I'm a fan.
  6. Solo night riding at WC gives me the creeps. Seriously get that sense that somebody is silently following right behind me or that someone is going to jump out from behind a tree. I don't get the heebie jeebies like that when I'm with a group there for some reason even if I'm at the back of the pack. My friend and I used to go on night rides in college with no lights when it was clear out and moonlit. We knew the trail very well and were able to keep up a decent pace. Still kinda stupid though. My first light was a Magicshine when they first came out. Since then I've tried to find cheaper and cheaper knock offs because I'm cheap and only need them for the 50ish min R&I ride. I'm down to $2 +shipping. We'll see how well they work when they arrive off the boat from the east. 😛
  7. ...and they all got brain eating amoebas.
  8. I know, I was replying to the original topic. Gettin' this thread back on track! 😉
  9. Yes, need to go back. I was not fully prepared for the awesomeness of Gnarkansas. Next time, I need to be in better shape. The videos that the OZ Trails group put our are some of the most stoke inducing videos I've seen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yNfLIMgXew
  10. No baseball bats? Glad to hear they’re taking care of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I love the tennis ball still hanging in there. You and I both know you’re never getting a car in that place again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Seriously, someone needs to invite Chris to Austin. Big Wheels Keep On Turning
  13. Waiting for the warranty replacement story... You're giving Shinerider a run for his money in the number of frames broken.
  14. This is why I don't ride street. https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/cyclist-hit-in-north-austin/1584779059
  15. My goal is to have it arrive on the boat from China just in time for the rains to end.
  16. Wish.com had one listed for $2...so yeah. I ordered one too.
  17. I just don't get why we need bonds to get things done like maintaining our roads and public pools. Does City Council not know how to follow a budget? A lot of what we are approving bonds for seem like basic services that a city should have money budgeted for. I voted against for a bunch of stuff because I can barely afford my taxes as they are now. Quit throwing money away with corporate incentives and maybe our city would actually go back to being affordable without having forced generosity to provide affordable housing.
  18. I like this tool (the fox branded one works too) because it guarantees that it gets tapped in straight since the long extension slides down past the first set of bushings. No way to get it wrong.
  19. FYI, if you decide to service the fork yourself get one of these to help press in the new dust wiper seals. It makes it way easier. Fork Wiper Seal Installation Press Tool
  20. That doesn't look any worse than it looked last week. If that's how bad Windy looks, then I bet the rest is probably okay and will be much better after 24hrs of breezy, sunny weather. Now, if I can just kick this cold that I'm fighting, I'll be in for some hero dirt and perfect temps!
