  1. I really wanted that bike when I was 12! If it was priced $150 I’d snatch it up for something to tinker with
  2. Had the same problem with my wife’s wheel, the factory tubeless ready tape had peeled up in a small, let’s say 3/4 inch area. I ripped that tape off, cleaned the rim thoroughly and re taped with tried and true gorilla tape. No problems since!
  3. Not sure if the video is showing up, but this is my 5 y.o., 6y.o., and 2yrs 8 Month old. It's the 2y.o. first trail ride.
  4. Good to know. I was under the impression the whole park was off lease. I don't think we ever broke that rule anyway. Quit taking our sweet old lab there years ago due to many aggressive dogs being off leash.
  5. The first two years I lived here not a single flat on the trails. Then 4/5 rides got a flat, switched to tubeless! In the 4 years since one puncture requiring a plug, and two burped tires requiring some extra air.
  6. I buy regularly from chain reaction and have never had any extra fees.
  7. Rode the 1/1 on a demo bike and they felt as good as my torch hubs. My next set hopefully a long time from now will be the 1/1's for the great value
  8. It was a rat snake, no rattle. Nearly ran him over
  9. Yeah, pretty sure I'm bringing the collapsable fishing pole on my next ride out there.
  10. A few wildlife pics from my morning ride on ninja
  11. I figured what a gig. Paid to night ride trails!
  12. last night about 10:30 on picnic approached an oncoming rider that pulled over and as I was thanking him for the pass, realized in was a police officer. Did something happen out there to have them patrolling the mtb trails that late? Also noticed all this extra traffic on the trails has made it b-line maze down there. Most making no sense at all.
  13. ? For you I9 peeps. I just ordered an HG freehub for my torch hub so I can run a different cassette than SRAM. I figured while I got it taken apart I might as well put some new bearings in the hub. All my go to websites seem to be sold out of mtb torch bearing kits, and since the new freehub i ordered is complete with bearings I really only need half the kit. So here’s my question. Is the 61804 bearing the same as a 6804 and the 61903 the same as a 6903? The dimensions seem to match.
  14. It’s never registered 5.0 for me in the last year.
  15. I’ve done both now and feel like the snail one has a lot less room for error! And looking down from the top of both seems different to me. The Christ church one you go “that’s a big drop!” The snail one you go “holy s%*# that’s a big drop!” Just my perception. By the way I wouldn’t hesitate to hit the Christ church again when it opens back up, but will probably wait until this whole virus thing is over to convince my wife again that it’s responsible for me to drop a couple mortgage payments on a new Enduro bike before I hit the snail one again!
  16. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. I rode a 130 trail bike for two years out at brushy and it was great. I also rode all the trails at spider on it and didn’t feel under gunned. That being said I crack the rear triangle on that bike (I think from a rock strike) and used all the parts to build up a steel hardtail that rides great at brushy, so my next bike will be a longer travel enduro bike to have a little more cush for spider, days, when I do shorter rides at brushy that will include sessioning the 10ft drop on snail, free ride 512 trails and Enduro races.
  17. Curent weight is around 24lbs, but I haven't put on the back wheel and converted it to 1x10 with a rear disc. Does that frame have disc tabs or are you using an adapter kit? And if so which one? My 6yr old has been doing some trail riding with me on her Raleigh lily 20” (we did 5 miles yesterday) and was thinking about buying her a suntour air fork which would require a new disc front wheel and if we’re going this far might as well get a rear disc wheel, but no tabs.
  18. https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/us/en/vitus-sommet-29-vrs-bike-xt-slx-1x12-2020/rp-prod182714 killer spec for price. A friend of mine In a similar situation and size to you bought the nx spec vitus escarpe last fall for under 2k and it seems like a solid bike and he has no problem with any of the trails at Brushy.
