  1. Yeah, I agree that it can't be that much of a measuresble impact. You can't judge by standing at a spot and going "ooooooh that looks bad". You have to have objective measurements. Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk
  2. seems like any discussion of the impacts of erosion need to differentiate between the impacts at the site of the erosion and the impact of the material that was eroded away on creeks and streams. I personally don't see well designed bike or foot trails causing much damage of either type. The worst erosion I see seems to only cause a trail to be less fun (fall line booshit). Also, you can't generalize much since the blackland prairie stuff behaves differently from the hilly limestone stuff.
  3. ^^^this. My trips out that way usually include camping in Fruita and day trips to Moab as weather dictates or just to hit the Moab stuff.
  4. dang, $450 for a custom designed steel frame using Reynolds 725??? That is at least a $1500 frame by a small builder. This thing looks well gusseted at the seat tube and head tube, I doubt you have problems. I'd love to take you up on your offer to take it for a spin when you get it!
  5. neckbraces get much more expensive after you crash.
  6. Between 512 and Spider Mtn, those of us with enduro bro bikes now have more chances to see what the bikes can do. I know my bike wonders WTF is happening and when it'll get let off the leash. I hope they find a good business model and grow the place. I look forward to checking it out.
  7. They're basically saying that if you are going to be using the trails, just pony up for the lift. I'm also surprised that they don't have a lower price for people who are willing to ride to the top. Maybe it's a hedge against eBikes zipping their way up to the top with ease?? ha. Their pricing generally seems a bit in need of massaging but, hey, it's not my business. I'm excited to have it and I'll just have to see how often I take advantage of it.
  8. Not sure where else to put this but I ran across it when I found the adventure rider website: https://www.warmshowers.org/ basically, a shower-share program. I've never done a bikepacking trip but if I did, I imagine that a shower would be one of those things that sorta keeps the morale up.
  9. https://www.adventurecycling.org/routes-and-maps/adventure-cycling-route-network/texas-hill-country-loop/ *note: I ain't ever done this nor would I be able to unless I was camping and shit.
  10. Perhaps eminent domain needs to be used to run a "pipeline" through there? The "pipeline" would carry carbon based lifeforms and such.
  11. I think another big downside of them eliminating the Al frames is those damned sweet paint jobs! The silver is nice but I've seen some stunning colors!
  12. @Seths Pool, don't the aluminum bikes already have the same feature where three models share the same front triangle? I thought I saw this before and thought that they really weren't emphasizing this enough as a cool feature.
  13. Was the bike brand omitted on purpose? I'm curious who it is an what the rest looks like, you know, just because it's a new sled and all.
  14. Certainly if you have an issue down the road you will have a stronger case if you've logged the state of the bike, as shipped, at this time.
  15. I thought the gold standard was Hopping Up On That Badboy And Yanking It Up To Your Junk?
  16. I just find it weird that the bars on the shorter travel bike are higher.
  17. but I also agree with the others that a measurement to the top of your seat would help in understanding the relative height of your bars.
