  1. I was talking about Slaughter Creek. Jimmie and STORM have done a great job at FRR.
  2. What isn't accounted for in your scenario are unusable places like land that is too steep, too flat, or in an undesirable area like riparian land or protected land. Trail should not have been built in the flatter areas; you can tell this by the erosion/rutting that has happened on trail not on the slopes.
  3. The rule of thumb in the professional trail building community is one kilometer to one mile for every 10 acres. The kilometer results in less dense trail, of course. Builders generally let the land dictate the amount of trail.
  4. We strapped pool noodles on them to stay afloat.
  5. MoJo Fest, for those who don't know, was a get together at Canyon Lake of MoJos from all over. There were poker runs, stupid bike tricks, a movie night, camping, skinny dipping, pot luck, pedicures, dancing in speedos, kegs, etc. Oh, we also rode the trails. Sorry for the video quality. Life was grainier back then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MywccVA_CJs Edit: I couldn't figure out how to embed the video. :-/
  6. Yep, that goes for most stab wounds if the item is still in the person. As we were approaching him, hikers were telling us it was a broken bone, so when we saw it, I assume it was a compound fracture, not knowing it was a puncture..
  7. That explains the huge dressing we saw around it when we rolled up to the scene. I hope he comes out of this okay.
  8. I believe the stated reason DesertFest is no more is that the emergency services said that they could not support such a large event. Even though they capped registration, they couldn't stop people from coming to the desert and riding the trails. The area couldn't support so many people.
  9. Another fun trip! From the rides to the wedding, Boquillas and the hot springs on my birthday, and from Starlight to the Pedraza House, I had a stellar time. I can't count how many times I've been in February but remember my first trip in 1998.
  10. I won't be making R&Is this winter. I work from home with occasional trips out for work and can possibly drop them off at your office, though I don;t know where that is.
  11. Cody, The tag states they are size 44 EUR. D
  12. If you texted me earlier, then yes! I'm available now.
  13. Or willing to trade them for dark craft beer. Take one, two, or all three. There is a thick Kryptonite cable lock, a Kryptonite U-lock, and a Saris cable lock meant to be used with a Saris rack but can be used alone. Text me at 512-797-RIDE. I prefer that you pick them up but am willing to meet you if it's not far from 183 & McNeil or Parmer and McNeil.
  14. This pannier was well used by me but still has plenty of commuting life left. It has noticeable wear & tear as seen on the pictures. All I'm asking is a four pack or six pack of a whiskey barrel aged stout, preferably from a craft brewer. Text me at 512-797-RIDE. I would prefer you come pick it up but can meet you between our places if it's close to 183 & McNeil or Parmer & McNeil.
  15. I commuted with them a few times, so there is some wear showing. Comes with a shoulder strap and a laptop bag, which I never used. Here is an example. These are $199 new. $60 cash, PayPal, or Venmo. I prefer you come pick it up but can meet you if you're not far from 183 & McNeil or Parmer & McNeil. Text me at 512-797-RIDE.
  16. These shoes are in decent shape, though I would replace the insole if I were you. They have Shimano MTB cleats on them but will take any two-bolt cleat, and you can see that the outer soles are in good shape, too. I'm asking $0.00 for these but will accept a six pack of a craft stout or a 22-oz stout. I prefer that you pick them up from me, though if you're not far from 183 & McNeil or Parmer & McNeil, I can meet you between us. Text me at 512-797-RIDE to let me know you wan the shoes specifically, as I have other things listed. You can also message me or reply to this thread, though it may take a day to reply.
  17. I love to see this inter-connectivity. Article here.
  18. I do still have these pads. Since this post, I have worn them a few times at Spider Mountain. I never took a big hit on them but did slide out a couple of times. I'll DM you my number so you can text me if you want.
  19. Someone bring a lantern. Oh, and I'm in with sausage. Early and standard lap.
  20. Debbie and I are out. I have a work meeting in the evening, and she is not feeling well. Sorry! We would love to bring our tables, or chairs, or beer, or banana bread, and our pickles. And sausage as usual. However, we are out. We will miss you
  21. There isn't. However, if one hasn't ridden these trails before, he could easily turn down that social path to explore it.
  22. I'm thinking it's the trail in the orange circle leading to the creek.
  23. Curt Gowdy State Park in southern WY is so much fun, and there's another trail nearby that is supposed to be fun, too.
