  1. It is, ish. I have an rf and an xt and it does not slid into the rf and the xt is super tight. While they are 24377 bearings, the plastic fitting adds some ID and snugs them up too much. The MegaExo I am replacing has a plasti face cap but doesn't impact ID. To the amazon I go.
  2. Anyone have a MegaExo BB in the parts bin?
  3. I like my Dakine hotlaps 2l. Perfect for a bottle, snack, pump, and phone.
  4. I run an Ergon which keeps the pack off the back in the summers and for the longer all day Colorado trips. I have a Dakine Hotlaps 2L, which has a single water bottle. Which helps as my SS does not fit a bottle. I would love the 5L or an Osprey but don't want to spend the $. I did just pick up a Mountainsmith hiking hip pack, 2 bottles. Should be fine for my 60-90min lunch rides, but has almost no storage, so a multitool and phone is it. So not likely to venture into the woods too far with it.
  5. I picked up a set from Hunt Bike, with a coupon they came out super cheap. As I pulled into the driveway yesterday, hard 90 turn on asphalt, I felt the front wheel get wonky. Got in the garage to find I was down to 5psi on a 25mm carbon rim. If I didn't have the Rimpact, that tire would have been toast and maybe the rim (depending on how long it was that low PSI).
  6. You can definitely crack this one open. Has a little glue, but mostly bolts and some do not tamper stickers holding it together. I'll open it up. Is there a way to test individual cells once they are welded together into series? Seems like you could get the reading on a block, but maybe not the whole.
  7. Neighbor knows I am the bike guy, so she gave me her R Martin Cruiser (Circa 2011 per the battery). A step through with a 7spd rear hub motor. She thought the battery was in great shape as she connected it recently. Best guess it is toast, as it charges for 4 seconds then the green light comes on. But when on the bike it shows low power. It's a 36v 14ah top tube mounted battery pack. I'd love to get this thing working for my disabled SIL, as the hills by her place are too much for her to ride, but she would love getting around more. But I don't know that I want to throw a bunch of cash at having the battery rebuilt commercially (non original packs won't mount up in the same spot as easily, though I could rewire it to a back rack battery). Anyone have experiece opening these things up to check cells? After reading up, I know there is a decent chance the Li batteries are toast from not being used, but also might be salvageable if I can get around the BMS to force charge them (BMS seems to think they are charged). Alternatively, if this battery pack is toast, I may start experimenting with a bike for me. Move the 26" disc 7spd hub motor to a donor frame and build a shredder for out at the ranch. Who wants to tinker?
  8. I want one for my ranch. But that would almost be more of a e dirt bike. I've looked into picking up an old Stinky or something similar, throw front and read hub motors on it, and converting that. Not sexy, but cheaper and all I would need to puttering around the place.
  9. 200 ft wide. At the middle there is a 3.4ac polygon that could be built. The stuff they are managing the cram in all along the non BCP lands is silly. This could possibly be a condo community. Lots of earth work, and in GCW habitat zone, but buildable if you have the will and the $. Even better would be for a developer or COA to buy it for BCP offsets. As the city grows and this area (my backyard) builds out, I am generally happy with the land grab that BCP became. I look at south of the river on 360 and imagine every bit of green getting built up. It already is, but it will build up even more. Sorry we lost Forest Ridge, glad it will stay green and undeveloped.
  10. I've taken them to the City recycling center off Todd Ln.
  11. I'm also confused. I live in Courtyard and was under the impression that Champions 4 was already bought and sold and on the way to being a hotel or something.
  12. Hijack this. My "ranch" is out in this general area (off purgatory rd). As my son is riding more, I would love some insights on a few trail options in the area. So when we spend a weekend at the ranch we can go for a local mtb ride. Right now he is most comfortable on stuff like Peddlers Pass, .6, etc. nice dirt singletrack. Any segments of Madrone or Purgatory Creek meet that? Anyplace else? Also any pump tracks in the area?
  13. I've been wanting to try baitcast and all my neighbors fish, so we could find a good home for the second.
  14. Yep, we finally got buds this weekend. Was getting worried. One junk tree in the backyard is toast. So that sucks.
  15. Always a SS, but normal bike is a Milkmoney 140/120 FS SS, with a 30/21 - light, fun, and a super climber. So my backup is my rigid TrueFab running a 32/20. Same brakes, same hubs. Same tires. I've got a segment near my house, not being a Stravasshole, but I'm near the top time. Ride it a couple times a week on the Milkmoney. A couple weeks ago I took the rigid out. I actually had a new fastest time. So the backup is still a FAST, flickable, bike. But at the end of 10 miles of riding, I certainly felt more beat by the rigid backup. Now to ride my other backup - another Milkmoney rigged to race - Lefty (100), light AF everything and a 32/19. Need to see how that one does out on the trails I have gotten used to riding on my plusher bike.
  16. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/295271845302072 Really nice set of kid bike wheels. That is a STEAL. BUY before I buy to hoard them! 24inch wtb 23i wheelset $45
  17. I love these Sur Ron Bikes, I just wish they would make one with a legit larger frame. Sure you can get a riser setup and a seat elevation kit, but then it looks stupid AF. They need to offer a frame version that legit fits a 6' tall guy. I would own one for sure if so. Would be helpful at the ranch.
  18. I want to take the boy out to Peddlers Pass today, all clear?
  19. Before I order a charger and bottle of 0w-30 fluid, does anyone have a Pike charger I can borrow? And does anyone have the big bottle of 0w30 fluid? I think I only need 20ml of the 0w30. I'l buy a bottle of the 3Wt, as I need a full 100ml of that for the uppers. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K1DNZ5I/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A36CSOLF9Y1DF1&psc=1
  20. It maybe overkill, but on my burly AM bike, I wrapped the chainstays in black bar tape. No chain slap, no rock hits, nothing. May do the same on Boy bike. In 4 years it will be Sisters bike. Gotta keep it nice.
  21. Not sure on local. I bought John the RockBros helmet, seen in the photo above, from Amazon. It lists being CE compliant. There are a number of them out at 9th street on the kids. Otherwise the only other thing I have seen is a kid out there with a Troy Lee kids helmet. On the RockBros, we measured his head and it should have been a large, which we ordered, but the twist tighten would not go nearly tight enough, so we swapped for the medium and it actually fit at about half way dialed in, so lots of room to grow. Also for kids helmets, we bought a couple of the universal helmet pad kits from Amazon and use those to fine tune fit. I actually fixed the fit on my own helmets with some of the extra pads. snug and more comfortable now as well.
  22. Alright, now that I am back at a laptop and not posting from my phone. I can thank the folks that helped make it happen. TheX, Shinerider, Jon Kubala, and a few not on here. The tires continue to be a PITA to keep tubeless, but they seem to be holding now. I cannot get a bead lock to hold once the air comes out of them. So spare tubes will be a must for trail changes. Only saving grace is my giant compressor at home (my 100psi pancake won't do it). I took Cody's advice and flipped the stem and swapped the spacers, so the fit is better now. Still working out the fork. I don't think I can let enough air out of it to sag correctly and still have it function. But once we hit some real trails we can get a better idea. I do need to pull the BB and move the spacers to get a better chainline. Right now the 40T feels like too much cross, so going to 2 spacers on the ND side should help that. Rotors came from my junk box, so need to true them both. But he loves it. Rides it all over the hood. I am anxious to get him on a trail, but suspect this week is a no go. I suspect Peddlers will be out for awhile, same with WC. Anything in SATN ridable this week?
  23. it looks awesome and really if it gets her psyched up to ride that's all that matters!
  24. Super old school, but anyone have an old Roach Stem pad laying around? I don't want to cut the fork, and need to drop the stem(for now) so will have a lot of exposed steertube. Wanna protect the little dude.
  25. Came in at 24lbs on the dot. Bars will need to shorten and tires need stans fluid. Otherwise all done. Going to need to start making some kids ride calls.
