Mattlikesbikes
Take off from an intense tracer RockShox rt3 debonair. Label says MMS380 tune. Sag at 30% Photo is of all the travel I used bombing down a 3000 vertical foot down trail in Colorado two weeks ago. Used 95% of the fox 34. Volume spacers? Chief
What is the stroke on that shock? Measure the distance from the can to the ring if it comes up the same as stroke you're good. Edited August 30, 2018 by Chief
cxagent
The answer is obvious - you don't weigh enough. Says the old fat guy.

Mattlikesbikes
2" stroke. I am at about 1.25, so lots to go. 225 with gear, should be heavy enough.
Kyle
Take the air can off and look inside for anything weird. While you're in there freshen up the oil and remove any volume spacers.
Bamwa
Looks fine to me if you weren't bottoming out.
ATXZJ
Dumb question but, do you get full travel with all the air out of the shock?

Let all the air out and it goes to full travel, 20mm more of stroke. So rough math, 40% left, and 30-35% sag means my operating window is 25-30% of the 50mm. I'll get it into the vice and get the can off see what spacers look like. Should I just pull them all and put back as needed or take some and keep taking more as needed? Kyle
I'm not sure about that exact shock, but there's probably just a single spacer. I'd take it out if there is one and see how the bike feels, and then consider adding a smaller one back if you need it.
Mattlikesbikes
No spacers. So, while it should be the right tune (mms) it's a bit much. I guess I experiment with lower pressure/more sag to see what it takes to get 95%.
