Riding on Observatory Mesa, within a mile of each other I saw a Mule Deer, a small herd of Pronghorn Antelope, and a larger herd of Elk. I was blown away. The Elk herd was more sixty of them, maybe as many as a hundred. Flagstaff, Az.
I know this thing is almost dead, but I was sitting outside a little Airstream happy hour close to my place here in Salida, and realized I was sitting next to FoldsInHalf! Some of you may remember him from at least a decade ago - used to hit Austin in a big RV and pull out his folding full-suss mountain bike at R&I. Still around, 22 years in the same RV now, and planning to ride the Vapor Trail this weekend! Stoked to run into him after all this time.
