  5. I own thousands of dollars worth of StewMac tools. Their videos are extremely informative. Keeping that guitar in one piece is a luthiers full time job.

  6. I had to run the Zwift Companion to use BT to the PC. I bought a $13 ANT dongle on Amazon and it's flawless. My HR monitor is ANT so it's all good.

  7. found it- that's a mount for a KSA-18 kickstand! Or just a Specialized kickstand.

  8. I am always up for that sort of thing. unfortunately, if you really want to ride "gravel roads," you have to start in Bastrop, Elgin, Lockhart, Llano, etc. that's a big time commitment because it's at least 2 hours of driving there and back in addition to a few hours of pedaling. I prefer to start most of my rides from my driveway. less time driving, more pedaling.

  9. There are a pair of holes to bolt a disc brake on top of the chainstay, and a treaded hole above the axle for mounting a rack. I don't know what that protruding hoodickey with ta pair of threaded holes is about. some sort of kickstand mount? what specific frame is that? I think I've seen that somewhere before.

  14. I would disagree with only having it done once. There's parts that wear out, that can be replaced. I've had more than one surgeon explain that to me, including the one that performed the work (but I've had doctors lie to me before, So I'll get back to you when I go in for repair work in another 5-10 years 🙂 The one major issue that was pointed out to me, was that you have to be very careful to not do hard impacts to the joint. It was explained at the time of the replacement that if you put enough force to the joint the bones split around the area of the attachment because the metal joint doesn't give, and it's a very serious type of break and often ends in the loss of the joint (straight leg). I'm very cautious about any heavy impacts to the leg. One reason why I'm no longer on dirt bikes. After all the years of suffering with pain and bullshit surgeries, I feel that is a major reason why I am still able to putt around on my MTB.

  17. I agree, went out there again today and found even more trails I hadn't found before. So much fun. Best part was, I needed to fax something, so I went to that UPS store on Parmer, and basically rode trails the entire way from my house until I popped out by the fire station. Probably the most fun I've ever had running a lame errand lol.

  18. Yeah man - if you need motivation to get your kiddo off the video games and out of the house, take him on a bike ride. It was a real eye opener for me. When I got home, my wife and I decided the kids are going to start earning time on electronics based on how much time they spend outside. Especially here in brushy creek, they have NO idea how blessed they are with the parks and trails we have around here.

  19. Will be interesting to hear the results of your post-op MRI. Knees are tricky for sure. I've already had 2 surgeries on my left knee and the other day it gave out on me while bowling. Once the knee issues become chronic, you're just looking for ways to put off the dreaded knee replacement. For me, pedaling through the periodic pain (when bearable) has worked better than inactivity, which seems to just cause stiffness. Cortisone injections in both knees worked wonders for me as well when I was at a point of knee pain inhibiting my riding. That was nearly 2 years ago and I haven't had any real pain since. Hang in there - hope to see you out on the trail sometime soon!

  20. First ride back from injury and Yoann says he's taking it easy, blue trails only. Commencal puts him on a city bike to make sure he doesn't push the limits on his first ride back. Yoann rides double-black lines on city bike. This guy is nuts!
