  1. When your bike has higher aspirations than you do...
  2. I'm no snake expert but I've had several self proclaimed experts swear up and down that Williamson Co. has no Cotton Mouths/Water Moccasins. This seems in direct opposition to several hunters/fisherman I've spoke with. On the other hand seems like every water snake in Texas is called a CM/WM.
  3. Gumdrop? Dang those houses on the ridge are pumping the fertilizer in their lawn
  4. Wasn't someone building a pool? Fill Dirt anyone? 😉
  5. Thanks for the report but what do you have against Mulligan?
  6. My only experience with SRAM brakes is replacing them with parts bin brakes on my buddies bike after they failed/got stuck. What's the downside to Shimanos? I've heard people say they are grabby? Notchy? I dunno, it's all I've ever run, from entry level to SLX, seem great to me.
  7. Shot in the dark since this isn't your usual MTB destination. I'm taking a business trip that will keep me over the weekend at the end of the month in scenic Chillicothe, OH. There looks like a few trials around the town but the nearest bike rental shop is either Athens or Columbus. Any suggestions?
  8. I'll contribute a 90mm stem and a mating pair of White Margin Stargazers.
  9. How about this for B-Lines. This trails look like a blast but there are so many splits!
  10. NBR but the Cascades stretch from the Northern Border near Canada to Oregon and have MANY options for camping/hiking/biking. The easiest to access are the areas along I90. This also makes it the busiest in the summer. Some of the most rewarding choices however are off of Highway 20 in the northern area this is just remote enough to keep crowds down but still accessible. North Cascades Highway (20): The Olympic Peninsula is much more remote as you have to drive around the Puget Sound or take a ferry across it. The old growth trees there are pretty amazing. Not quite California Redwood but the biggest in the state. However, it is a temperate rain forest so it can be VERY WET.
  11. Also, never rode Olympic NF, I'm not even sure if you can within the actual NF but you should definitely hike there. Like nothing you've ever seen.
  12. Couple Recommendations from someone who lived there: Duthie Hill Park in Sammamish (Sah-mam-mish) Fantastic Park with everything you could want. Downhills are relatively short but I love the central area with trails that start and end from the same location. You could ride 30min or 4 hours here. Do Boot Camp, Ryans Eternal Flow,VooDoo Child and Step It Up for some good riding. St Edwards Park in Kenmore Tons of XC Paradise Conservation Area in Woodinville Bring a Map/GPS, easy to get lost. Tons of XC, a bit of DH Tiger Mtn in Issaquah (iss-uh-qwah) Solid climb with rewarding downhill. Not a great solo trail admittedly. You'll need at least a full afternoon to complete. If you have the stamina, do it twice. I'm not really knowledgeable on rentals but I do know that Kirkland Bicycle does Rentals. I remember the CC deposit being pretty steep though. Here's a rough Map: Seattle MTB - https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=186SRl4UPXVE8JtO6hmnGlNyNM3Y&usp=sharing
  13. This group does like taking B-Lines when discussing difficult topics.
  14. No, I like the bridge. I meant the turtle.
  15. Great, someone else to shave minutes off my strava time...
  16. That was my favorite thing about it too. Great Looking bike!
  17. Looks fun, I can't wait. Hopefully it's still there after yesterdays/this weeks rain!
