  1. They weren't two tallish dudes, one of which in a bright green shirt and on a blue/black hardtail?
  2. Just got back from East Peddlers, Mulligan, Picnic and Rim Loop. For the most part conditions were great. Soft spots in usual places and I skipped a whole section of Mulligan but my bike ended up cleaner after tonight than when I started. Depending on how much rain materializes tomorrow GO GET SOME! BTW, Little additions in East Peddlers are great! Might be the first flow in the state!
  3. NM, I used the Google and found it. Thanks for the reports!
  4. Where's the Twitter link in your profile?
  5. He really doesn't does he. Good thing he is relaxed though.
  6. +1 Different brands fit different heads. On a slightly different note, MIPS has been brought up a few times. I understand the claims behind it but has anyone experienced it yet? I tried some MIPS helmets on the other day at the peddler and they lost that nice secured feeling I was used to, which is... probably the point. Who's made the switch/upgrade, anyone crash with one yet?
  7. Weird. I'm just east of there and it's all dry at my house this morning. I hit mulligan, picnic and peddlers last night (finished around 9pm) and it was perfect.
  8. I didn't even notice it until I switched from the Dark theme back to the Light.
  9. Except you're doing it wrong and you've provided proof that you are doing it wrong. See step one of the link you provided under the subject heading "Method": Socrates' interlocutor asserts a thesis, for example "Courage is endurance of the soul", which Socrates considers false and targets for refutation. Socratic Method: RA Method: You're method is the internet equivalent of dropping a pop-up book into the middle of a daycare and observing what happens from a distance and then being mad at people who ask you to interact. I don't mind you kicking off topics, I'm happy to participate but I 100% see why others are frustrated at you.
  10. I sound like a broken record but I always compare MTB riding to Dirtbikes as that's were I still have more experience. On any of my bikes my foot pegs were barely 1.25" wide, with aftermarket "wide" pegs being 2-2.5". You needed the pegs as a pivot point for operating the shifter (LH side) and rear brake (RH side) from both a standing and sitting position, hence the "narrow" pivot point. Granted I always rode in a much stiffer soled boot but I never felt that my pegs were narrow, even after 30-60 trail miles (mostly standing). My MTB has a set of Chesters that I (wrongly) ride in trail runners and I've never had a wince of width induced pain. I guess if you have a specific foot problem I can understand the need but I'm not buying it (literally and figuratively). Seems like I would definitely be better off in investing in some real riding shoes. You guys almost have me convinced.
  11. I promise the trails will dry out eventually.
  12. I knew this would come up. We got married well after she received the bike as a birthday present. It was a bit of a sore spot when we were dating as instead of getting a car when she turned 16 (like so many of her friends) the bike she had got the year previous got a tune up. I think she put no more than 2 miles on that bike (or any bike) in her whole life.
  13. I too dipped my toes in the water that is MTB'ing by riding for a year on my wife's bike that she got when she turned 15. 12 years later it was practically new and hanging in her parents garage. It was a classy Mongoose MGX. It was a great way to try it without dumping money I didn't have into a new bike. I kept it for a few years as a buddy bike/ exercise bike until I upgraded it to my Ghost. My one regret is spending money on a CL fork. It was a good upgrade, but prolonged the inevitable.
  14. I always have my wallet for ID/ Medical Card, Etc. I just rarely carry cash. Unless somebody wants me to Venmo/PayPal me on the trail then I like having some cash stashed in my gear.
  15. Speaking of money, I carry a few dollars. Helpful in the past when I needed to bum a tube or something like that and I wanted to send the person home with some refreshment funds.
  16. Funny, I used to carry a mirror all the time, but as a signal device for emergencies. Could be double duty I guess.
  17. Devil's advocate here, I rode Dirtbikes on remote Washington single track for years, short rides were 35 miles, long rides were 90-120. If we had a major mechanical that couldn't be repaired we were spending the night (or two). Bailing wire, spare fuel hose, duct tape and some backwoods engineering got me or my buddy back to the truck more than a few times. E-bikes need to obey all non-motorized rules/laws/regs but the risk is no different than dirtbikes, in fact arguably better.
  18. I ride an 11 year old bike with 26" wheels. 🤷‍♂️
