  1. This^ I initially preferred bars with very little sweep but as my rides got longer, my wrist began to hurt. I'm currently running a 800mm carbon DH bar with 5* of sweep on my trailbike that i had to cut down to 780mm and will probably cut to 760mm. Its not a trail width/ tree gate issue, more of a hand placement issue where i found myself moving my hands closer inboard relieve pain. I also had to rotate them a bit to get more of a beachcruiser angle and add some ergons. Have a trip coming up next week so we'll see how it works out.
  2. Have a ramp control leaking as well. Sent it back to MRP on Monday for repair.
  3. new mexico is pretty backwards so ill go with that
  4. Awesome! I remember those views.....fire damage still looks crazy
  5. Thanks. Waiting on some decals/frame protection and i can start putting it together. Hoping that SS does well here and elsewhere. It's a 2.5 DH carcass wire bead bastard with a vittoria tire insert. The front is 2.6 DHF and measures 28.5 +/- and shoves the HTA to 62.7* Its the light but it does look bent AF
  6. Had a 33 y/o buddy who thinks he's superman blackout from heat coming down dead horse in moab. Came >< that close to dying that day.
  7. That's the rub for me. Lived in too many places that aren't this hot during the summer and still a bit spoiled. Mountain biking is something i do for fun and riding when its absolutely miserable is not that. If its a matter of staying fit, i'll take the gym any day over 100* , 5mph switchback/ledge trails that i have ridden countless times when its not miserable. My problem is, when something becomes un-fun, i usually stop doing it. Happened with auto racing & off roading and i don't want that to happen with MTB. On the travel tip: We're gonna do a MT Lemmon run in a couple of weeks and will have my BIL shuttle us to the top like bitches๐Ÿคฃ On the heat tip: When i used to head out for early morning summer rides id wear a pair of lightweight running shorts and use triathlon briefs with chamois under it. Not the sexiest thing on earth but god damn, so much lighter & cooler than baggies and no spandex required. https://www.lightinthebox.com/en/p/mubodo-men-s-cycling-under-shorts-bike-briefs-sports-blue-mountain-bike-mtb-road-bike-cycling-clothing-apparel-bike-wear-micro-elastic_p7263190.html
  8. Bands like Fontaines D.C. give me hope for the future. Carry on lads.....
  9. Currently working outside in the direct sunlight and will do so daily, until we can move away in a couple years. Riding season ends for me in may. Unless I'm loading up and getting TF outta this swamp, I'm gym only.
  10. Recently swapped from my lizard skins northshore grips to these GA2 fats. So far, they feel way better. https://ergonbike.myshopify.com/products/ergon-ga2-fat
  11. So pretty much setting it up for all the trails here๐Ÿ˜ Get it up in the travel for all the rocks but, keep it progressive enough to prevent the fork from packing up and flinging you OTB when you ram something square going 2mph.
  12. X2 on this. Not going wrong upgrading to a factory 36.
  13. That fork is actually a decent platform to build off of. Have you considered a charger 2 RC2 and MRP ramp control or luftkappe upgrade?
  14. Typical. Its just like everything else in this country, the transfer of wealth upward. I'm done with it
  15. Good chance an LBS might have these
  16. Sorry, i should have said sale page. I used to buy a ton of stuff from the outlet too and was bummed to see it go. I find most of the sales by signing up for email newsletters and make sure that goo-gull doesn't jam it in the spam folder. Thats how i found the memorial day sale from them. Otherwise, there's this: https://www.adidasoutdoor.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-AO-Site/default/Search-Show?cgid=sale_bike
  17. ^This absolutely applies to all rubber, especially tires. Went through this in my auto racing and off-roading phases. So much comes into play when choosing a compound for a specific application. I cant tell you how many times i saw guys getting the softest/stickiest compounds only to overheat them and turn them into grease. Once they did that, the rubber never recovered and the tires were garbage. Hopefully these guys will provide a little competition to push 5ten/adidas back in the right direction. https://rideconcepts.com/collections/ride-concepts-mens
  18. IMHO, 5ten makes some better options over the standard freeriders, so i wouldn't invest much in resoling them. If you really like the canvas freeriders, go down to the vans outlet and buy some of their lowtop, padded skate shoes. They are just as grippy and cost under $50. 5ten outlet had the freerider contact with MI6 rubber for 65.00 shipped over memorial day. If you watch closely, deals will come up. As it stands, their retail pricing is insane and i'd never pay it. Lastly, Ive had pretty good luck with 5ten and still have a pair of maltese falcons from 2012.
