  1. The whole LLS phenomenom is completely subjective to the end user. Would I recommend a mondraker for deception? Probably not. Generally most 100-120mm 29s and 130-140mm 27.5s work well here and wont be too slack or long. My honzo had a sub 12" BB and was able to get through the usual rockbike riding here without being too much of an issue. Demo, demo, demo
  2. Still waiting on: shock upgrade fork rebuild wheels xyz bike purchase ARR & 512 membership maybe youd like to give those another go?
  3. Come on my little forum tumor, you can spread your cancer better than that. I believe in you!!
  4. That's the exact attitude that has turned this forum against you
  5. Forgot to add the south store had some really good deals on helmets, garmin, clothes, shimano 10spd drivetrain and a 27.5 arch mk3 wheelset. They also had their house brand wheels for dirt cheap. I got my my royal racing jersey for 10.00
  6. Holy sh@t. Picked up one of these for me and one for chief today. Too good of deal to pass up.
  7. I really like the modular design philosophy. Build one front triangle in 3-4 sizes and thats it. Only need the equivalent number of molds, and with the improved resin reducing production time, it puts them on the right track for lean production and a lot of waste reduction over the competition. For a logistics nerd like me, it was cool hearing Montague use phrases like "just in time". The geo looks promising and they have also done a good job improving the aesthetics of the bike as well. I'll be paying attention to this for sure
  8. Place looks rad. Unless there's a fast food chain attached to it, it'll never happen in tejas.
  9. Mom lived in Newport and these laguna trails were always popular for everyone from novice to experienced riders. https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7003855/ridge-rollercoaster-romance
  10. Yes they were purchased by PON in 15. They seemed to have stayed to loyal to their principals and used the money to innovate and buy their own carbon production facilites. From what I hear, Roskopp and Graney are a good balance for the business and treat their employees and riders really well. The fact they've kept Cedric, Peaty and up until recently, Ratty on the payroll/sponsorship reflects well on the company in my eyes.
  11. A little late posting this one but it was too good not to. Pierron is an absolute madman! Fast, low, loose, in total control and everything i wish i could be as a rider. That ship has definitelty sailed but at least i have youtube Oh, and the black angels soundtrack helps too. Cant wait for 2019 WC season!!
  12. SC has got their business model absolutely DIALED. They've come a long way in the last couple of years and are definitley on a short list of brands that'll ill return to when/if I jump the kona ship.
  13. I always just set it up to whatever feels best to me. Trying to duplicate the same cockpit on multiple bikes doesn't make any sense as each bike has different geo/purpose/design and will never feel like the next. I've had a couple dozen bikes since 2012 and would have gone batsh*t crazy by now.
  14. Water only and store in fridge full, when not in use. No odors/mold ever.
  15. Sweeper is your friend. You can check mine out if you want. I (think) rugger also bought one a ways back too. Don't forget to check running and paddleboarding packs ETC. They're much smaller
  16. Nice work man. Cool seeing you be a part of this video and getting the well earned props.
  17. That was pretty much a complete marketing fail. I'm an OG Walken fan as much as the next guy, but him reading a script that sounded like something written by a lame executive bummed me out. The rest is just business and Gwinn is gonna rock on Intense this season. DAT gap at 1:32 😮
  18. Pretty much this. I have to drive to all of my trails and because of that, I dont need as much water. Switched to a Dakine sweeper a couple years ago and wont go back to a full pack. The only time we use a full pack is an all day ride where i have to carry food for both my wife and I, or something out of state where we have to grind 3k feet on a fire road and can just carry all of our gear in the pack until it's time to bomb the downhill. Have to agree 100% on not having that stupid, hot, heavy pack strapped to my back when riding. The hippers are still something you have to adjust your riding to but, way better than raising your COG even further with the other. Ive carried a full bladder of water, windbreaker, basic tools, bars and car keys in the small 1.4L sweeper. If you need more space, use the side pouch to carry a small water bottle to put tubes etc in. I actually cut the water bottle pocket out of mine to add additional internal space. IMHO, it didn't make any sense to downsize to a hip pack, unless I was buying the smallest one available. https://www.dakine.com/en-us/sale/new-sale-arrivals/sale-new-backpacks/sweeper-waist-hydration-pack-backpack/ https://www.westmarine.com/buy/dakine--sweeper-waist-hydration-pack--16975583 One in blue (rare-ish) https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dakine-Sweeper-Waist-Pack-Hydration-Pack-NEW-Color-Blue/254092652485?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Dec854477ae8641589ba9a068f55e53a3%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D254092652485%26itm%3D254092652485&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Ab86191c9-23dc-11e9-a276-74dbd180c689|parentrq%3A9a4836861680ab1cb6336315ffed668b|iid%3A1
  19. New video from BKXC chronicling his time spent in Austin. He did a really nice job featuring NFB at reveillie and Eric walking the viewer through the creation of the deception trails. Overall the editing on this video is very well done and even though im not a BK regular, he's definitely taking it to the next level like Seth has done with his stuff.
  20. I hear these are coming back into fashion
