  1. Turn heads with this thing. No shit, my dog here Henry and I did slickrock with this bike seat. Selling because we now have 2 dogs, and I’m going to get a trailer and tow them together instead of just taking Henry. https://austin.craigslist.org/bop/d/cedar-park-buddy-rider-dog-seat/6876839883.html
  2. My $0.02: I upgraded by big bike last year (Scott Genius 720) and wanted to get a complimentary HT to go with it. Snagged a huge closeout Scott Scale 730 which has practically the exact same geometry as the Genius, but in HT version. I pulled the drive train and fork off without spinning a single crank, upgraded both bigly, and love that bike. Fast forward 6-7 months and I feel like I didn’t make the best decision. I bought and upgraded a hard hitting burly hardtail that would compliment my hard hitting burly (and just as efficient) full suspension. I can ride both at brushy, walnut, pedernales, pace bend, and even Reveille. So I ask which should I actually ride on certain days? Fast forward to today and the HT is being sold and picked up in an hour, and I’m going to figure out my second, complimentary bike this weekend, which will be some type of gravel grinder that’s ready for road riding, fire roads, and buff out single track, and capable of tech and small drops if needed. In the end, a second bike is always great, hell I’d like 5, but I try to live a minimal life as much as I can right now. My recommendation is to really evaluate and make a move on a bike that is different from your FS. Getting a 1x slack hardtail with a 140 fork is great, but is it really necessary when you have a mid travel super efficient smuggler? That’s for you to answer as I already have.
  3. Let me get this salsa in the stable and set up in the coming week, and I’m down for all of that.
  4. My issue is I want a build that fox front, rear and dropper, with any eagle drivetrain. Its surprisingly tough to find those. You’ll find eagle, with a fox rear but a pike. Not interested. Fox front and rear fox and slx drivetrain. Not for me. Fox front with RockShox delux rear and e thirteen/eagle combo out back. Not happening here. Fox front, rear and EAGLE, finally, with a reverb dropper...nope. I echo buying used though. It just takes patience and the willingness to travel a few hours. I scooped my big bike up last April for a HUGE discount in brand new condition. The guy shared all his Strava rides with me which were xc rides and amounted to less than 30 miles, but it’s carbon, GX Eagle top to bottom with fox front and rear and a transfer dropper. Couldn’t find that for 3.2k in the new market even with those direct to consumer bikes.
  5. I live near the Lakeline mall. FYI, I am in Houston until Wednesday night for work. Once I get home I am good anytime.
  6. And we’ll drop it to $1250. Starting in May I’ll part it out.
  7. About to pull the trigger on a gravel bike and want to find some good places for 20-40 mile rides. Any recommendations around Austin?
  8. Damn, I’d cancel my plans to go to the YT demo if it weren’t at spider mountain.
  9. $1300 will get you a kick ass Scott Scale 730 with an NX drivetrain, transX dropper, rekons front and back and a 130mm fox float 34 fork off of the Marketplace right here on this website! 🤔
  10. How was that loop on a hard tail? Im going to Lajitas next month and debating which bike the bring.
  11. 2018 Scott Genius 720 Front carbon triangle, rear aluminum triangle 150 front / 150 rear with twin lock system (twin lock reduces travel to 110 front and rear in pedal mode, then basically a full rigid lock out at full push) Fox performance 34 fork Fox nude shock Fox transfer 150mm dropper Full GX eagle drive train SLX brakes Almost new 2.6 DHF front / 2.6 Rekon rear Never crashed, garage kept and cleaned meticulously.
  12. Yep. Looks like I’m riding on the road and paths tomorrow. Hopefully it’s clear for the long holiday weekend coming up.
  13. Few small showers here in Lakeline area over night and expecting a few more through the morning. Any word if these conditions are no longer the case at and around walnut for a ride tomorrow?
  14. Here I have a 2017 Scott Scale 730+. Changes I’ve made: Complete removal of the Shimano 2x drive train and installed SRAM NX 1x 11-42 125mm Brand-X ascend dropper post (internally routed) (not pictured) Removal of a shitty 120mm SR Suntour coil fork and installed a 130mm Fox 34 Float air fork Matching turquoise race face grips and pedals Blackburn bottle cage (lifetime warranty) Lizard skin chainstay protector Currently running tubeless Weighs in at 28.XX pounds. This bike really is awesome. I’m the original owner and it’s got about 200 miles on it. It can do everything in this region from pedernales to walnut. I think my price is fair for what I’ve put into it, but for the right buyer there may be a little wiggle room. Asking $1350.
  15. Great condition out there today. While it’s hard to get more than 7-8 miles without covering your tracks twice, it’s fun. There’s a couple jump lines on powering hill, some are big hits on the second hill. Lots of techy switchbacks all the way up to the top. Solid spot for a 1-2 hour ride.
  16. Any word on condition? I know last night we got a little bit of rain and today at 11 a very brief downpour around the lakeline area, but this afternoon turned into a beautiful day. Hoping to get some riding in tomorrow either here or walnut.
  17. Porter cable 6 gallon 150 psi pancake compressor here. Perfect for all my needs.
