Yeah I got in a little over 2 hours before logging in. Rolled at 7:19am. Good stuff.

Sweet! I have a Fox 36 Boost, just looked and saw the bolt holes.

I'm the last guy you will see riding in the mud but they still seem like a good idea for the occasional puddle/creek crossing, etc. Any recommendations? pretty much one size fits all? Not sure I have seen them locally, not that I have been inside a shop in the last few months. I'm considering something very minimal like the Mucky Nutz. https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/equipment/cycling-accessories/bike-racks-fenders-locks/bike-fenders-accessories/bike-fenders/mucky-nutz-face-front-fender/p/24845/ Do these even do enough to make it worth it?

I haven't scoped the new lines out much but are there going to be issues with lines crossing? I know some stuff is still being built, just wondering how much folks need to be on the lookout for someone else bombing down a different line and getting beaned. The drop from the top of the bridge down to the beginning of Picnic X comes to mind. Not a fan of that intersection.

OTBS lizards seem to thriving.

One of the few times I have gone to HEB, some tool sat at the oranges for probably 5 minutes fondling them looking for the perfect one while he caught up with an old friend on his cell phone. No mask of course. I gave him some dirty looks but really wanted to tell him to pick out his chit and GTF out. Pretty much everyone else was being diligent.
-
My guess is it creates a deterrent or reminder not to touch your face? Or once you leave and get in your car, your hands are clean?

Same HEB for me. Last time I was there I was shocked EVERYONE had a mask. That was several weeks ago. So the lady with no mask was questioning people with masks why they were wearing one? I would be very pissed. We are slowly starting our phased approach to returning to our office. We just moved into a new building with the dreaded open floor plan.80% of us are exactly 6 feet apart with walls only about chest high in between. The approach is currently that that is enough and masks only required when approached or away from your desk. Hopefully things start to clear up before I have to head back.

Rode by the YMCA at Brushy yesterday and the camps looked to be in full swing. Lots of groups, not a mask to be seen. It felt very odd.

Awesome! I like the miniature Hammerhead jersey! Too bad he doesn't have a miniature Camelback! 😁

South Austin Trail Network, The SATN
GFisher replied to The Tip's topic in Mountain Biking Discussion
They tried to have the entrance shut down years ago. I remember the City Council meetings. Council basically said if we shut it down, you will all just create your own private entrances. I quit parking there after that. I rarely drive there, but even when I did, I would park over by Westlake High and ride over. There was also talk of a new entrance in the area you speak of, but I don't recall exactly why it got shut down. As mentioned, that is all BCP land so they aren't exactly trying to increase accessibility or impervious cover. Really, the huge problematic crowds die down once the water dries up. It is really only swimmable for a fraction of weeks out of the year. More realistically, everything outside the main trail/HOL and VC could get fenced off (which has also been brought up). Some things don't need to be super accessible. More recent - from 2018 - https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/homeowners-trying-to-limit-parking-on-their-street-near-hill-of-life/1294762305/ -
I know we are all thinking the same thing.... THREESOME!!! 😛

St. George, UT Riding - Seeking Recommendations
GFisher replied to GreenMTBrider's topic in MTB Destinations
St G is going to be super hot. I have always been there earlier in the season so the upper stuff was still wet, it may be good to go now. But this area is still on my list. Bryce Canyon like formations: https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7035124/thunder-mountain-ride -

Some good info in this thread to start: How many days riding? It may be getting really hot, you may want to go further up in elevation (like Cedar City or so) unless you are specifically tied to St George. There is some excellent riding there though. Food/beverage options not so much. -
Yeah, I feel sick.

WTB: 56(ish) cm road bike. $600 max
GFisher replied to pulpwoody's topic in Mountain Biking Discussion
I have been meaning to move my old road bike. It is a 2009 Specialized Tarmac Pro SL Red 56cm. It has plenty of miles but only a handful of rides since I got my newer road bike in 2016. Pretty much this bike but not compact - it has 39/53 - https://www.specialized.com/us/en/tarmac-pro-sl-compact-sram/p/22597?color=31639-22597&searchText=9096-0549 I think just under 16 lbs. I'd have to say it was at least in good condition so $600 would seem like a good price. I'd rather move it easily and get it to a good dude than have hassles for a little extra cash. https://www.bicyclebluebook.com/value-guide/product/15796/ Never crashed but fell over a couple times while leaned on something, some clearcoat chips and scratches but otherwise in good shape. I kept maintenance records. Quite a bit of stuff is pretty much new (chain, chainrings, BB bearings, Rear Der). PM me your email and I can send you some pics if interested. Otherwise I will clean it up and post it separately. I have too many bikes (if that is possible). -
Indeed it was!

Isn't that the Training Bra?

I got in a good couple hours this morning. Trails are primo. I pedalled from the house before 7 and was on singletrack before 7:30. I was surprised how many folks were out that early but it was way better than the other times I have gone.Get you some!
