  1. Was it full/closed when you asked?
  2. Never been much of an Adler fan, but as far as any 'Leadership' we have, I'd say he is one of few that seems to have any common sense. β€œThe governor said we couldn't enforce face coverings with a criminal or civil penalty. In the city order, it's still mandatory. The penalty now is that more people will get sick and some of them will die. That ought to be penalty enough,” said Adler. https://www.fox7austin.com/news/stay-at-home-order-extended-for-travis-county
  3. Finally got around to watching Breaking Bad. Got hooked early but the last season or so got a bit too off the rails (as seems common). Still enjoyed the hell out of it. Will have to check out 'Better Call Saul' now. I may get flogged, but I love watching road racing and really missed the Spring Classics and (will probably miss most/all of the Grand Tours). I have had NBC Sports Gold for several years but poined up for Flobikes last year. I was all set to be able to watch most any major race but alas..... I especially missed Paris-Roubaix (epic race). Paris-Nice (1 week stage race) was going on when all this stuff blew up and some teams left early and they eventually scrapped the final stage.
  4. Thanks @Barry @ATXZJand @throet for all the great tips. Time to go shopping. On another positive note, Pinthouse Pizza will have a very limited curbside/delivery reopening starting today. No Bahn Mi pizza yet (my favorite), but I can get my hands on some more Electric Jellyfish, one of my favorite beers.
  5. I hadn't either, but there were enough cars to just about account for everyone, including about 5 or 6 parked at the pool which I understood to be discouraged. No one parked on Fittonia. When I was leaving, I saw a couple in their 60's probably, from the way they were driving slow and looking around (and their floppy hats) I knew they were looking for a trail. Sure enough they eventually parked and were walking around, trying to find the trailhead (on the south side of the road) and then stopped to pull some map or something out of their pack. I doubt many of these peeps lived in the neighborhood. I saw it listed on a few hiker websites with many recent reviews. The 17 I saw that day were probably as many as I had seen during my 4 EBs combined. People are coming out of the woodwork. Granted it was a perfect Saturday morning.
  6. I have been trying to stay off the busier trails and somehow my right arm found a nice vine somewhere.
  7. Brand new bikes are awesome, you almost don't want to ride them and sully them (for about 5 minutes).
  8. Pretty good. Slightly overgrown in places right now as are most areas and a couple minor tree issues as usual. I went a couple Saturdays ago (4/25) thinking it would be deserted. I didn't see any riders on the trail (but a couple pulling in to park when as I was leaving). I did see 17!! hikers and trail runners and about 4-5 dogs while I did 1 lap. I was shocked. Not used to seeing more than 1 or 2 people, although I don't ride out there near as much as I used to.
  9. Most of the people interviewed don't even live here, WTF - come from Dallas/Houston/Philly just to party and break rules in our parks. WAY too many people suck. Another obsevation. I have seen more people pressure washing their driveways in the last month than in the last couple years combined.
  10. Way cool! I wonder if they saw you guys and decided to take it to the next level. Hell of a sunset too!
  11. Riding home last night I passed through the Arboretum Duck Pond area. Near the corner by Z-Tejas next to the ponds an older couple had set up a small table and chairs in the back of a full size pickup. They had a white table cloth, nice wine glasses, and were dressed up, the whole nine yards. It was probably 7 by then and they were in the shade and there was a nice breeze. I kind of chuckled to myself as I rode by but I had to admit it was a pretty good idea. I don't know if they picked something up from Eddie-Vs or Z-Tejas or what but it looked like they were quite enjoying themselves. I may never see that again in my life.
  12. HA! Seriously, while I consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to coffee and beer, when it comes to whiskey and wine my sophistication level is pathetic. I load up on Barefoot Cabernet for $4.50 a bottle and am happy I don't know any better (if I am really missing much). As far as Bourbon, can you guys recommend a decent bottle in the $30-35-ish range? I have tried a couple bottles of Treaty Oak Red Handed and am currently working on a bottle of Small Batch 1792 and have been happy with them, but would certainly like to try some recommendations (local preferred but I know that is quite limited).
  13. I'm looking for a piece of sheetrock at least 24" x 55" for my attic door. Don't really want to have to buy a whole sheet if anyone has any project leftovers laying around. North/Northwest area would be ideal.
  14. Yeah, amongst a bunch of grown men who put on diaper shorts and play around in the dirt you sure got you a sophistificated pallet.πŸ˜‚
  15. I think you are pretty safe adding Public Enemy #1.
  16. Back in the 3x8 and 3x9 days... a few times a year for sure. 1X12 - once in 5000 miles so far (I think it was a fluke).
  17. 9 years, so you must have started tubeless? Back in the tube days it was a regular occurrence, I don't miss that shit one bit.
  18. OTBS - Been a while since I grilled twice in one day. Bone-in pork chops for a Vietnamese vermicelli noodle bowl for lunch and marinated chicken, corn on the cob and bell peppers for dinner (along with an avocado salad).
  19. The last thing we need is to promote the trails on the news. I think you are much more likely just to get more newbs than change anyone's behavior. If anything, steer it towards guidelines in general that would apply to the hike and bike trail, streets, etc. as opposed to trying to highlight how great our trails are. They have already been pimped out to the max.
